Britney Spears Reveals Heartbreaking Truth Behind Her Drinking and Conservatorship Struggles

In a revealing Instagram post, Britney Spears has publicly discussed the contentious nature of her conservatorship and admitted to using alcohol as a means of dealing with sadness.

The article started off featuring an image of a radiant chalice, then proceeded to display numerous magazine spreads capturing Britney, aged 43, during the period of her conservatorship.

Besides stating that, Britney herself expressed feeling completely “mistreated” throughout the lengthy legal agreement, and went on to detail how her whole life was “managed” during that specific phase.

Additionally, she asserted that she was ‘mistreated’ each time she voiced her concerns about the terms of the agreement.

The setup commenced in 2008 and concluded in 2021, with her father, Jamie Spears, acting as co-conservator for most of that period. Previously, she had criticized him for his involvement in the legal proceedings.

Britney started her Thursday post by expressing that she generally dislikes drinking, but mentioned that she sometimes partakes when her heart has experienced excessive strain.

In the post she shared on Thursday, Britney expressed that she usually doesn’t enjoy drinking alcohol, but there are times when she feels compelled to drink when her heart has been put through too much stress or hardship.

She wrote, ‘What a find! Indeed, I’m not joking. I’m not particularly fond of alcohol, but I drink it for my heart when it needs extra care. I suppose you could call me peculiar. I shoulder a lot of suffering, more than I should, and work tirelessly on things others won’t see… Today, I’m sharing this because let’s face it, the way our generation communicates secretly about technology is woefully inadequate, isn’t it?’

In addition, she elaborated on the details of her conservatorship, stating that every aspect, including where she traveled, whom she interacted with, and even her meals, were subject to control.

Britney alleges that speaking out against her treatment would have resulted in abuse. She firmly maintains her innocence, stating that she has never done anything wrong.

She stated, “I’ll share with you the photos from when I was under conservatorship, which were pointless as I wasn’t a star who could express myself within it. Instead, I was in an industry that exploited the innocent and controlled my movements, interactions, diet – that’s completely unjust! If I ever spoke up, I faced abuse, but I never did anything wrong. Here are those pictures!

Britney expressed that she felt truly “attractive” during a photo shoot, specifically when working with photographer Ellen Von Unwerth in New York City.

I’ve only had one photoshoot experience, which was when Ellen Vonworth captured me in New York City for a span of two hours. This was my initial and sole session where a photographer made me feel truly beautiful.

As a lifestyle authority, let me share a personal revelation: I’ve compiled more than forty images from my time under the conservatorship that are not just awkward or disheartening, but border on being humiliating. It feels an awful lot like being bullied by an organization that my father established to provide him with a rotating roster of women during my tours.

The truth is, I was never the shining star within the conservatorship; instead, I was subjected to unrelenting abuse, a reality that I cannot stress enough.

‘Note: The American conservatorship brought out an incredible sense of beauty within me! By the way, in summary, it’s frustrating to think about all the precious moments spent on photos that my mind obsessed over night and day, for no apparent gain. That’s probably why I dislike posing for pictures, as I find joy in observing my body in motion instead.’

On February 1, 2008, the pop icon was placed under a conservatorship by the court, with Judge Reva Goetz appointing her father, Jamie Spears, and lawyer Andrew M. Wallet as the individuals responsible for managing her affairs.

2019 saw Wallet stepping down from his role as co-conservator, with Jodi Montgomery being appointed as Britney Spears’ personal conservator later that year. When her father Jamie fell ill, Montgomery temporarily managed Spears’ financial affairs.

Even after regaining command, Montgomery continued to oversee Spears directly until the dissolution of her 13-year conservatorship in November 2021.

Initially set up as a short-term solution in 2008, the conservatorship eventually transformed into a permanent one by the close of that year.

After some time, Britney was considered capable of engaging in a mixed-approach professional setup, as her former estate conservator put it in legal documents. However, she wasn’t deemed fit to manage her private affairs.

According to The New York Times report, the estate closely monitored who she associated with, decided on her permitted destinations, and kept track of even minor expenditures such as a cup of coffee from Starbucks.

Additionally, Britney mentioned to the court that she was coerced into using contraceptives and taking medications without her consent.

In a recent hearing, I found myself addressing the judge directly, expressing my sentiments as follows: “Your Honor, it’s crucial to acknowledge the significant roles my father and those involved in this conservatorship, as well as my management team, have played in imposing consequences upon me when I dared to refuse certain decisions, such as touring. In all honesty, Your Honor, I believe they deserve a stint behind bars for their actions.

After the conservatorship ended, Britney tied the knot with her longtime partner Sam Asghari. However, their relationship didn’t last forever; they parted ways in 2023 and finalized their divorce last year.

She recently has rekindled her relationship ex-felon Paul Soliz. 

In a recent conversation on The Viall Files, Sam revealed that he discovered about Britney’s exceptional legal predicament when their relationship began in 2016. However, it wasn’t Britney who shared this information with him.

To be completely honest, that situation took me by surprise when it unfolded early on in their relationship. I shared this experience with Viall.

When Viall inquired about whether Britney had clarified the matter to him, Asghari stated that someone from her team was the one who informed him instead.

As a diligent follower, I was not provided with an explanation. Instead, someone contacted me and shared some information: “Just thought you should know, this is about [topic], and remember to adhere to our guidelines and regulations.” This is what they conveyed to me.

As a young teenager when he moved to the U.S. from Iran, Asghari expressed concerns that Britney might be experiencing oppression and manipulation.

He shared that he hails from a place where such issues were prevalently addressed. In that context, he had encountered situations where women were oppressed and dominated by men throughout their lives.

I found myself questioning, ‘This seems unusual, yet it’s America – there must be something I’m missing.’

Following the conversation with an undisclosed individual from Britney’s team, Asghari mentioned that he did not rush to inform the singer immediately.

He said to Viall, ‘It’s not automatically so. I truly made an effort to grasp the situation. I wanted to comprehend why such a conservatorship was established in the first place.’

It seemed that Asghari expressed he held limited influence to alter the circumstances, given his role as the singer’s partner.

‘It seems like you don’t contribute many words, especially when we consider your role as a boyfriend or simply a presence in her life.’

He also admitted that he was ‘afraid’ of losing Britney if he tried to rock the boat.

‘I was afraid they were gonna maybe make me not see her and things like that,’ he said.
