Queen Mary’s Regal Ensemble Pays Tribute to Danish Royal History
Queen Mary of Denmark showcased her respect for the rich heritage of the Danish Royal Family by adorning herself with exquisite pieces.
At a grand dinner held at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki, Finland, on Tuesday, Queen Consort donned a voluminous dress that left everyone in awe, while her spouse, King Frederik X, was by her side.
In a lovely tribute to her husband’s ancestry, the Queen adorned herself with jewels seldom seen in public for over a century.
From the collection of unique items, Queen Mary wore a gemstone-studded golden diadem that belonged to Queen Caroline Amalie.
A diadem is a jewelled crown or headpiece normally worn by members of a royal family.
Queen Caroline Amalie was the Queen of Denmark between 1839 and 1848.

Mary also wore Princess Vilhelmine Marie’s gold and gemstone encrusted cuff bracelet.
Princess Vilhelmine was the daughter of King Frederick VI who reigned between 1808 and 1839.
On Tuesday evening, the Danish royal pair were warmly welcomed in Helsinki, the Finnish capital, by President Alexander Stubb and his spouse, Suzanne Innes-Stubb, who hails from Solihull.
Queen Mary, aged 53, gracefully adorned an enchanting long, embellished dress featuring delicate sheer sleeves and a voluminous silk sash around the waist.
The royal’s gold belt bore a silver brooch with the Danish flag in the centre.
The woman with four children wore a gown that featured a dark foundation adorned with intricate flower designs stitched in golden threads, and it concluded with delicate pearl accents.
On her left, she affixed two medals; one bore an image of Denmark’s royal figure, who was her spouse, while the other displayed a red and golden cross.
Queen Margrethe II, who hails from Australia but now reigns over Denmark, adorned herself with a regal sapphire-hued band, typically linked to the Order of the Elephant – a distinguished Danish knighthood.

She carried a miniature clutch bag in the same shade of blue with a diamante fastening.
Mary adorned her eye-catching outfit with a gold tiara boasting various colored gems and lavish gold earrings that seemed to hold rubies.
She styled her chestnut-brown hair sleekly pulled back into a sophisticated bun, and opted for a subtle makeup look featuring a smoky eye, rosy cheeks, and a delicate application of light pink lipstick.
King Frederik X, on the other hand, cut a sharp figure in his formal wear, consisting of a black tuxedo coat, a crisp white shirt, a matching waistcoat, and a pristine white tie.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I find myself often admiring the impeccable style of individuals who effortlessly exude elegance and authority. For instance, recently I observed the Danish monarch, aged 56, adorning himself with a striking collection of medals on the left lapel of his jacket. To complete this regal look, he draped an ornate gold chain across his shoulders, glistening under the spotlight.
At a beautifully decorated dinner table filled with pink and white blossoms, President Stubb rose to warmly welcome his esteemed royal visitors with a humorous speech. King Frederik attempted to conceal his chuckles by covering his mouth.
Afterward, it fell upon Frederik to speak to the attendees during the grand dinner, as the king put on a pair of black glasses for the event.
The Danish royal couple arrived in Finland early today for their state visit.
On a crisp Tuesday morning, President Stubb and his spouse Suzanne welcomed May and Frederik during a formal gathering hosted at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki.
