Tate McRae’s Shocking Injuries from Her Intense Music Video Shoot Revealed!
In a recent conversation, Tate McRae discussed the bodily strain experienced during the production of her Revolving Door music video, detailing instances of bruising, bandaged feet, and whiplash.
21-year-old Canadian singer recently unveiled her third studio album titled “So Close To What” on February 21st, and also debuted a music video for the fresh track “Revolving Door.
In the lively video choreographed by Aerin Moreno, she donned tight-fitting white shorts and a coordinating crop top for yet another captivating dance act.
However, her remarkable flexibility and difficult routine didn’t come without a struggle, as she disclosed her injuries during an interview on the Capital Evening Show with Jimmy Hill.
She told Jimmy: ‘You know that was my first time really dancing in heels!
In truth, I’m not very skilled when it comes to wearing high heels, finding them quite uncomfortable. This photo shoot, stretching over eleven hours, was particularly challenging due to the constant discomfort. To put it mildly, our feet ended up taped and bandaged, with blisters and bruises everywhere.

‘It was like a crazy day we were destroyed by the end of it.’
When Jimmy remarked about her flamboyant head-tossing moves and creative “hair-choreography,” Tate admitted that she had developed neck strain, or whiplash, the following day.
She admitted, “Yes, I did indeed experience whiplash the following day. To be honest, it felt as though my brain might have suffered a concussion, such was the intensity of discomfort. It was an unprecedented level of soreness after that shooting session.
As a conscientious adherent, I’d like to share some insights about an issue known as Whiplash – a neck injury that commonly occurs due to an abrupt jerk of the head. Typically, it resolves itself within a span of two to three months, as per the information available on the NHS website.
The video begins with a glimpse of the main character exiting a dimly lit corridor adorned with her own likenesses, followed by the entrance to a pristine, white chamber that houses multiple additional doors.
Momentarily, the door closes, and then there’s a shift to a radiant, white-lit studio setting, accompanied by a soft, understated musical introduction.
As the camera gradually ascends from her pristine white shoes to her face, it coincides with the start of a song’s first verse, which appears to hint at a past relationship.
She admits: ‘At last, my frozen heart begins to thaw,’ setting the tone for the moving chorus of this composition.

She sings, “Baby, I’ve tried to stay away from you like an unwanted routine, but I find myself drawn back, much like a continuously turning door. Despite my efforts to desire you less, I find myself wanting you even more.” Meanwhile, she dances with four other women who are all dressed identically.
In an unexpected display of feelings, Tate concludes the thrilling performance by collapsing into tears as he lies on the ground.
After the music ends, a single daystar appears to sob, its “tears” trickling down as it partially kneels, revealing its emotional state.
For the song “So Close To What”, the artist undertook the Miss Possessive Tour, covering a total of 56 shows that took place in North America, South America, and Europe.
2024 saw the beginning of marketing efforts for the latest album, as the It’s OK I’m OK single was released on September 12.
