Exclusive: Hero Fiennes Tiffin shares why Picture This felt “more real” to him
Following the return of star Hero Fiennes Tiffin, he can be found again on Prime Video in the latest film titled “Picture This,” sharing the screen with Simone Ashley.
In a romantic comedy, we follow the character of Pia, a photographer, who learns that she’s destined to find true love among the next five dates she goes out on. Among these possible suitors is her former partner, Charlie.
In an interview with Digital Spy prior to the film’s premiere, Fiennes Tiffin shared insights on how he related the character to his personal experiences.
He mentioned that since he had previously acted in romantic roles, finding it intriguing was his experience of taking on a somewhat younger character, which could be described as a ‘coming-of-age’ role technically.
As a fan, I find myself drawn to delve into a slightly altered phase of life – that sweet spot in your mid-twenties. At 27, it seems this chapter has an undeniable sense of reality creeping up on me. The feeling is still tinged with the exuberance of my teenage years, but now there’s this undercurrent of, ‘Wait a minute, is this the moment I’ve been preparing for?’ It’s a mix of excitement and apprehension, like I’m standing on the precipice, ready to leap into what lies ahead.
However, this is an entirely unique examination of those topics and the values that matter to you, spanning from age 18 to almost 28.
In contrast to his character’s portrayal in the “After” series, the role in “Picture This” provided Fiennes Tiffin with an opportunity to showcase his comedic talents more extensively.
He mused, “It was intriguing to figure out when to emphasize the romantic aspects more and when to focus more on the humor. I don’t have a lot of experience with comedy, but it’s delightful on set when you’re attempting to bring joy through laughter.
Prior to the movie’s premiere, Simone Ashley shared insights with Digital Spy on the most significant lesson learned during her debut in a romantic comedy film.
She shared that she gained deeper insights into her comedic style, making it feel genuine to her. Additionally, she picked up a great deal of knowledge from her fellow actors due to their careful consideration and unique portrayals of their characters.
Picture This is available to watch now on Prime Video.
