Blake Lively Promotes Another Simple Favor Amid Justin Baldoni Drama

Blake Lively is promoting a new movie while engaged in a legal dispute with her co-star from “It Ends With Us,” Justin Baldoni.

On Tuesday, the actress posted a sneak peek of the upcoming movie Another Simple Favor (sequel to her 2018 thriller A Simple Favor) on her Instagram account.

Last week, a preview of the movie was first revealed, but actress Blake Lively took things into her own hands by sharing it on her massive Instagram audience.

The tale began with a small act of kindness… Another Simple Favor is now available for streaming on Prime Video, starting from May 1st, as she shared in her post.

In the past hour following its share, there were only a small number of comments on the post, mostly very favorable ones that were displayed.

The film revolves around protagonists Stephanie (played by Kendrick) and Emily (portrayed by Lively), who journey to the picturesque Italian island of Capri, specifically for Emily’s lavish wedding to a wealthy Italian entrepreneur, as reported by Variety.

At this extravagant event, not only will you encounter stunning attendees, but also intrigue and deceit as they confirm their attendance. This wedding promises unexpected plots and turns, just like the winding path from the Marina Grande to the main square of Capri.

The release timing of the movie has turned into a PR catastrophe, as it’s bound to be eclipsed by Blake’s persistent legal issues with her co-star in “It Ends With Us,” Colman Domingo.

In a lawsuit filed in December, Lively claimed that Baldoni had engaged in sexual harassment and masterminded a smear campaign against her. Conversely, Baldoni countered with a lawsuit in February, accusing Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist Leslie Sloane of defamation and extortion for an alleged sum of $400 million.

Baldoni refutes Lively’s claims, whereas Lively, Reynolds, and Sloane all deny the accusations leveled against them by Baldoni.

Following the announcement of promotional material for Another Simple Favor on February 5, where Lively shared screen time with Anna Kendrick, some viewers suggested that Lively may have attempted to exert influence over director Paul Feig (age 62) regarding the film’s production. In response to these rumors, Feig addressed the claims.

Film director Feig, known for movies like Bridesmaids (2011), Ghostbusters (2016) and the upcoming Jackpot! (2024), asserted his creative control over this project by stating, “This is my edit. There’s no other edit… just wanted to make that clear.

In his response, Feig showered Lively with considerable compliments, having collaborated with her on the 2018 film “A Simple Favor” before.

The Emmy-nominated director expressed that Blake has been absolutely fantastic to work with and a dream come true, adding that she is exceptional and a wonderful team player. In his opinion, she stands out as the best in the business, and he considers himself one of her biggest admirers.

Many supporters of the director found fault with his support of Lively, as accusations were leveled against him by Baldoni in legal documents and online posts.
