Fiancée of Faster Pussycat’s singer dies after falling overboard on an ’80s cruise

On Monday, Kimberly Burch, the partner of Taime Downe from the band Faster Pussycat, tragically passed away after she accidentally fell off a boat during an ’80s-themed voyage.

In a Facebook post, the family of Kimberly Burch announced her passing, expressing their deep sorrow. They described Kimberly as a cherished daughter, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt whose absence will be deeply felt by everyone who knew her. The family requests prayers during this difficult time as they come to terms with this devastating loss. We miss you dearly, Kimberly Burch.

On a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, the Explorer of the Seas, near Freeport, Bahamas, tragedy struck as Burch accidentally fell overboard. The ship was hosting ‘Faster Pussycat’, one of many acts scheduled for the ’80s Cruise’, a retro-themed pop concert event. This musical extravaganza featured a lineup including Squeeze, Adam Ant, Tiffany, Warrant, Dokken and Men at Work. The seven-day voyage, setting sail from Miami, made stops in Nassau, San Juan, and Puerto Plata.

Multiple individuals who attended the cruise shared details about the incident on social networking sites, with one individual informing The Hollywood Reporter that it occurred approximately at 11 p.m. The band performing last night was Squeeze. An announcement was made over the loudspeaker stating that someone had fallen off the ship, causing the vessel to stop and change course in an attempt to locate the missing person.

According to reports from TMZ, Carnell Burch (Burch’s mother) stated that her son, Burch, tumbled off a ship following a disagreement with Downe. The incident is currently under investigation, with the U.S. Coast Guard taking charge. Earlier in the journey, Burch had shared pictures of himself with Downe on the vessel.

Back in the ’80s, Faster Pussycat was a prominent band on the Sunset Strip’s hard rock and hair metal circuit, recognized for hits like “Babylon”, “Bathroom Wall” and “House of Pain”.
