Shocking Performances Unveil Australian Idol’s Top 12 Contestants After Intense Showdown!
The finalists for Australian Idol have been decided after an amazing week of transformative performances, earning them places among the Top 12 contestants.
For three thrilling evenings, contestants were put to the test, striving to win the esteemed endorsement from judges Marcia Hines, Kyle Sandilands, and Amy Shark.
As a Queensland-born lifestyle enthusiast, I recently found myself stealing the limelight with my unique take on the timeless tune “Run To Paradise” by The Choirboys. In an emotionally charged atmosphere, I managed to secure Kyle’s swift pass during the performance – what an unforgettable experience!
Overflowing with emotion, I find myself utterly astounded, for tonight, among countless worthy individuals, the spotlight shines. It’s a moment that resonates deeply within me, a testament to the power of human spirit and creativity.
In another instance, Judge Amy Shark stirred up debate when she utilized her expedited entry for 19-year-old John Van Beek from Western Australia.
The shark found himself at odds with the other judges regarding the contestant’s heartfelt performance of James Arthur’s “Impossible.
‘I believe in you that much,’ Shark declared, urging John to return stronger.
In the meantime, strong feelings were expressed as Victorian William Le Brun, aged 21, demonstrated his extraordinary vocal abilities on Coldplay’s “Something Just Like This,” winning Marcia’s express pass.
Nevertheless, the eliminations were not free from discord since Shark alleged that contestant Bony Onyango was employing auto-tune during his performance of a Ne-Yo ballad, which some perceived as cheating.
Upon reflection, I must express my sincere apologies for labeling it as deceitful. Now I comprehend that this was not a mere trick, but rather an expression of your unique artistry, the essence of your talent, your very identity. Truly remarkable!
12 talented finalists from Australian Idol 2025 were ultimately revealed following a tense competition, preparing to shine in the spotlight: Aaliyah Duchesne, Bony Onyango, Emma Jones, Gisella Colletti, Hannah Waddell, Iilysh Retallick, Jake Whittaker, Jaymon Bob, John Van Beek, Marshall Hamburger, Mzuki, and William Le Brun.
The performance didn’t lack its signature humorous instances; Kyle Sandilands had everyone laughing heartily as he playfully auditioned for a place in the Top 12 by offering an embarrassing version of the David Lee Roth song “I’m Just A Gigolo.
The young hopefuls will begin battling it out on live TV on Sunday on Channel Seven at 7:00pm.
Previously this year, Australian Idol judge Sandilands had to step away from his role after being diagnosed with a surprising brain aneurysm, requiring time off.

Previously aired television personality Ricki-Lee Coulter stepped in for the controversial radio host last month on the reality singing program.
As reported by TV Tonight, it seems that Kyle will appear in forthcoming episodes; however, there hasn’t been any explicit reason provided yet for his temporary absence from the shows.
Daily Mail Australia has reached out for comment.
Ricki-Lee, aged 39, gained recognition among Australian Idol viewers when she served as a judge on the show during seasons 2008 and 2009, making her popular as a pop singer.
After disappearing from screens for 14 years, Seven rebooted the show in 2023.
Kyle is judging the current season alongside Marcia Hines and Amy Shark.
