MAFS Stars Spill the Tea on Retreat Drama

On Married At First Sight, Rhi Disljenkovic and Jeff Gobbels shared insights into the events at the couples’ getaway, disclosing that friendships were severely tested as emotions ran high and conflicts escalated.

To Daily Mail Australia, the reality TV duo confessed that their getaway, initially planned as a pause or reset (circuit breaker), unexpectedly morphed into a high-pressure environment. This intense atmosphere brought to light stress points in connections and challenged the bonds between the cast members.

Or more informally:
The reality TV pair spilled to Daily Mail Australia that their retreat, which was supposed to be a break from it all, became a real hotspot instead! It revealed the strains in relationships and tested the limits of friendships among the cast.

‘It was good to get out of the bubble,’ Rhi said.

Spending all hours of the day side by side can certainly push individuals beyond their usual boundaries, and it undeniably challenges existing relationships, be they marital or friendships.

Jeff expressed agreement with her thoughts, further stating that it seemed to him that the friendships faced tougher trials compared to the relationships.

‘Whenever we get into a group environment, fireworks happen, and this week was no different.’

In the midst of all the turmoil, the pair took some time to think about their own experiences, acknowledging that they were thankful for their solid standing.

‘Watching all the drama unfold around you, you feel grateful for your own relationship,’ Rhi said.

‘At the start, we thought there was no hope of progressing, but we’ve come a long way.’

An unforeseen development during the retreat was the increasing friction between Clint Rice and his wife, Lauren Hall, as the previously favored bride found herself in disagreement with the rest of the group.

‘Lauren’s very headstrong and unapologetic with her opinions,’ Rhi revealed.

‘She doesn’t care who she upsets, and you’ll definitely see that play out in the next few days.’

Jeff, who has been observing Clint’s predicament, added, ‘Clint’s in a tough spot.

He expressed that he consistently stands by his partner, despite having differences in opinion about certain actions they take.

Regarding future events, the pair hinted at even more thrilling scenes to come. “This week promises a lot of excitement for everyone,” Jeff commented.

‘There’s no escaping it.’

In the interview, Rhi shared her feelings about managing everyday life alongside the recent surge of fame.

In one moment, I’m sitting in a makeup chair for a live broadcast, and then suddenly I’m loading groceries into the car and taking care of various tasks for my friends – so it feels as if I wear two completely different roles, she chuckled.

In the meantime, Jeff confessed that his perspective was quite distinct: “One moment I’m on television, and the next I’m removing a ladder from my car and strolling onto a construction site.

In other places, they openly acknowledged experiencing a wide range of feelings as they revisited their past events.

Rhi acknowledged, “You need to pause, maybe even take a deep breath, and tell yourself that it’s over and settled. Still, it stirs up emotions that I experienced back then.

Refreshingly reliving an old event brings back the initial feelings as if they were happening for the first time.
