This Morning star shares chronic illness update from hospital: “Life took a turn”

This Morning star Michelle Elman has shared an update about her chronic illness from the hospital.

The life coach shared on Instagram a photo revealing that she had unexpectedly needed to go to the hospital during the wee hours of the night.

Things have changed lately. While there are numerous aspects of being single that I truly enjoy, one major downside has been facing emergencies like going to the hospital ER all by myself in the dead of night.

Without relatives or close friends like a bestie or significant other living in the country, it can be challenging for her to provide an emergency contact, she added, expressing why she is deeply invested in exploring the positive and negative aspects of friendships ending in her book titled Bad Friend.

She pondered: “Even though you could potentially ask many people to attend your birthday party, how many would you be able to call in the middle of the night and ask to accompany you to the emergency room?

In a conversation about her life with a chronic condition, Elman mentioned that she was recently questioned about her history of surgical procedures.

The well-known writer and television personality was born with a brain tumor and an overabundance of cerebrospinal fluid, known as hydrocephalus. Additionally, they’ve faced issues related to their digestive system, including a blocked bowel and a ruptured intestine.

By the age of 20, Elman had undergone 15 surgeries.

She went on to say, “It’s quite amusing to me that I wrote about this year being my best one yet, just look at where we are now.

Just two days back, people were asking me about my previous surgeries, and I proudly shared that I had been enjoying excellent health recently.

Recently someone inquired about my approach towards managing a long-term illness, and I responded that one should make the most of their life when not hospitalized. Currently, this advice holds a great deal of truth for me.

To finish her post, Elman took the time to thank the NHS for their support through her ordeal.

She ended by expressing her deep appreciation for the NHS, noting that everyone there was incredibly kind and understanding, particularly during the late-night hours.
