Demi Moore and Mikey Madison’s Icy Oscars Encounter: Awkward Moments Unveiled!

At the Vanity Fair Oscars Party held at the Wallis Annenberg Center, Demi Moore and Mikey Madison seemed to steer clear of one another, perhaps due to their previous competition in the Best Actress category.

In a surprising turn of events, Mikey, age 25, emerged victorious against Demi, aged 62, along with Fernanda Torres, Karla Sofia Gascon, and Cynthia Erivo, by clinching the prestigious award for her outstanding role in Anora.

Many found Demi’s victory unexpected, since she was widely considered the favorite to win The Substance award, having won most of the significant prizes prior to the ceremony on Sunday – except for the BAFTA.

Despite attempts to conceal it, the actress appeared visibly disheartened when her name was not announced, as seen by cameras catching her looking dejected, tightening her jaw, and murmuring a brief response while graciously applauding for Mikey.

Nevertheless, even though she didn’t win her first Oscar, Demi maintained a radiant smile upon her arrival at the Vanity Fair party with poise and elegance.

However, another setback occurred when there was a possibility that she might be outshone for the second occasion of the evening, as Sydney Sweeney stepped into the high-profile event wearing a gown similar to hers.

Although both actresses appeared stunning in their individual outfits, the shimmering halter neck dresses worn by Demi and Sydney bore a striking resemblance in terms of style.

The two dresses adorned with sequins had openings over the bust area, subtly showcasing deep necklines that accentuated their intriguing neckline and décolletage.

The gorgeous dresses they wore had a similar design; they were all fitted at the waist to showcase their slender figures, and each one gracefully flowed to reach the floor.

But while Demi’s number was a glittering gold colour, Sydney, 27, opted for a pale pink version.

At the party, it’s worth noting that the Ghost star didn’t appear nearby Mikey. Instead, the up-and-coming star was spotted enjoying themselves with their Anora team members.

At the party, the actress exuded an aura of classic Hollywood elegance, stepping off in a deep-necked black dress that accentuated her waist, and a shawl of the same color gracefully covering her shoulders.

She adorned a striking necklace featuring diamonds and rubies, grinning broadly as she displayed her newly personalized Oscar figure, bearing her name on it.

Mikey was accompanied by her fellow cast members from Anora, Mark Eydelshteyn and Yura Borisov, as well as the award-winning director Sean Baker and his producer spouse Alex Coco – both of whom showcased their four accolades with pride.

This quartet of spouses claimed the prestigious Best Picture award for the fourth time, following in the footsteps of fellow married couple Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas who triumphed a year prior with their film Oppenheimer; this dynamic duo also garnered awards for Director, Editing, and Screenplay.

At the party, Mikey could be spotted socializing with Adrien Brody, the Best Actor award recipient, as well as exchanging a warm embrace with his Scream fellow actor, Jenna Ortega.

Instead, Demi opted to console her stylish daughters Tallulah Willis, Rumer Willis, and Scout Willis.

Additionally, she was spotted socializing with Lindsay Lohan, Joan Chen (a fellow actress), and Janet Yang (the President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences) at the event.

Earlier in the evening, videos of her frosty response to not winning the Best Actress award quickly spread online, sparking sympathy and anger among many of her supporters who vented their disappointment about her loss on various social platforms.

Although numerous individuals were thrilled and commended Mikey, one individual claimed that Demi had been unfairly denied (or overlooked), while another described it as the most significant oversight or neglect in the history of the Oscars.

It was observed that Demi appeared tense and mumbled a solitary word in response as Mikey’s name was announced. Nicola Hickling, a lip reader, exclusively informed DailyMail.com about the word she had muttered.

She noted that while Demi uses the word “nice,” her facial expression doesn’t reflect this. Instead, it seems as if Demi was compelled to utter the word, hinting at an underlying emotion or discomfort.

In the indie movie Anora, which boasts a generous $6 million budget and showcases the sex worker community authentically, Mikey plays the role of an escort. During his moving acceptance speech, he acknowledged this community with great respect.

She expressed a desire once more to acknowledge and pay tribute to the sex worker community. Indeed, she intends to do so and remain an advocate for their cause. Absolutely, she will stand with them in solidarity and offer her ongoing support.

Among the unforgettable moments of this extraordinary journey, connecting with the remarkable individuals, particularly the inspiring women from that community, stands out as an absolute highlight.

She concluded her speech by recognizing her fellow nominees including A-lister Demi.

Mikey expressed his appreciation for the considerate, clever, stunning, awe-inspiring work of his fellow nominees. He feels privileged to be acknowledged in their company.

1) “This feels like a beautiful dream that I hope won’t end tomorrow. Many thanks, Sean [Baker], for making it happen. You’re truly cherished by me. It’s all your doing; thank you so much.”

This version maintains the sentiment and gratitude expressed in the original while being easy to read and using natural language.

2021’s Academy Awards were marked by Anora’s impressive sweep, claiming five awards such as the Best Actress award for Mikey, along with Sean, the screenwriter and director, who took home accolades for Best Original Screenplay, Excellence in Film Editing, and Best Director.

Towards the close of the evening, our movie clinched the Best Picture Award, triumphing over The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Dune: Part Two, Emilia Pérez, I’m Still Here, The Nickel Boys, The Substance, and Wicked.

The movie primarily revolves around a young escort, Ani (portrayed by Mikey), who hails from Brooklyn. She unexpectedly ties the knot with the son of a wealthy Russian businessman.

Upon hearing the news in Russia, her beloved tale could be at risk since his parents are planning to travel to New York with the intention of having their marriage voided.

On Sunday evening, other notable victors included Zoe Saldana, who was awarded Best Supporting Actress for her part in the contentious film Emilia Perez, and Kieran Culkin, who started the night off by winning Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain.

As a devoted admirer, I proudly claim that it was I who clinched the Best Actor accolade for my outstanding portrayal in “The Brutalist,” marking my second victory in this esteemed category. Instead of hastily departing, I chose to prolong the moment by extending a heartfelt speech, effectively pausing the exit music mid-flow.

He emerged victorious over a remarkable group that included Timothée Chalamet in “A Complete Unknown”, Colman Domingo in “Sing Sing”, Ralph Fiennes in “Conclave”, and Sebastian Stan in “The Apprentice”.

Adrian, 51, previously won Best Actor for his work on classic film The Piano back in 2003.

Despite the controversy connected to her movie Emilia Pérez, Zoe managed to triumphantly win the Best Supporting Actress award.

The show hit a high note as the 46-year-old American actress was crowned for the Netflix film.

Monica Barbaro, Ariana Grande, Felicity Jones, and Isabella Rossellini each emerged victorious in their respective roles: Monica Barbaro in A Complete Unknown, Ariana Grande in Wicked, Felicity Jones in The Brutalist, and Isabella Rossellini in Conclave.

In A Complete Unknown, Monica Barbaro, Wicked for Ariana Grande, The Brutalist for Felicity Jones, and Conclave for Isabella Rossellini, they all prevailed and gave outstanding performances.

Zoe was the very first Oscar winner with Dominican heritage, and she took care to acknowledge her ancestors for laying the foundation that led to her prosperous acting career in the United States.

Following the unearthing of racially insensitive and Islamophobic comments made by Emilia Pérez’s co-star Karla Sofía Gascón, Emilia has found herself in a wave of unfavorable public attention. These controversial tweets, some of which are quite recent, have surfaced.

Netflix opted not to fund Gascón’s trips for award ceremonies, yet she was present at the Oscars.

The evening’s award ceremony commenced impressively with Kieran, aged 42, being the initial recipient of an award – the Best Actor in a Supporting Role accolade – for his exceptional performance in the film “A Real Pain”.

He emerged victorious against a remarkable lineup that included Yura Borisov in “Anora”, Edward Norton in “A Complete Unknown”, Guy Pearce in “The Brutalist”, and his fellow actor from “Succession”, Jeremy Strong, in “The Apprentice”.

The hit musical “Wicked” didn’t leave the awards ceremony without a win, as Paul Tazewell made history by becoming the first Black man to receive the award for Best Achievement in Costume Design.
