Oscars 2025: Ariana’s Phone Holder Dress and A-Lister Caught Googling!

2025 Academy Awards spectators tuning in on TV, or trying to catch the event on Hulu, were left with an incomplete account of the show.

Backstage, some of Hollywood’s most prominent actors exhibited a mix of endearing and absurd behaviors.

During the performance of Wicked, the main actors were the source of many hilarious backstage moments, like when Ariana Grande creatively used the stiff material of her dress as a prop to hold her phone.

During the broadcast, the singer was momentarily seen standing up beside her co-star Cynthia Erivo to cheer for Paul Tazewell, the Wicked costume designer who had just won an Oscar for his work on their movie.

When she rose for a standing applause, it was apparent that her phone was nestled in the folds of her skirt’s wavy ledge.

Another Wicked star was also responsible for one of the vainest moments of the night.

During a break, Jeff Goldblum – the actor portraying the Wizard in Wicked – was spotted showing his phone to his wife, Emilie Livingston.

However, images taken from the backside showed that Goldblum amusingly browsed through his own red carpet photographs.

At the same event, his co-star, Ariana, was featured in one of the most charming backstage photos.

At the event, she was joined by her boyfriend and co-star from Wicked, Ethan Slater, who delivered an encouraging act. They both didn’t shy away from displaying affection towards each other throughout the ceremony.

At a particular instant, they hugged right before the stage during a pause in advertising, with Ariana encircling Ethan’s neck with her arms.

At the 2025 Oscars, Demi Moore felt disappointed when Mikey Madison won the Best Actress award instead of her, especially since Anora swept the ceremony with an impressive five awards, including Best Picture.

62-year-old Demi, who had been leading the race, visibly showed her anger when 25-year-old up-and-comer Mikey’s name was announced as the winner, leaving the audience in shock, during the 97th Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

On Sunday night, Zoe Saldana was among the notable winners, earning the Best Supporting Actress accolade for her part in the contentious Emilia Perez. Adrien Brody also shone, securing the Best Actor award over Timothée Chalamet with his powerful performance in The Brutalist. Kieran Culkin opened the event with a victory in the Best Supporting Actor category for A Real Pain.

Demi appeared tense, gripping her jaw tightly, as they didn’t announce her name, yet she managed to mutter a self-assured “Nice” while cheering for Mikey’s grand victory.

It was quite unexpected that Demi won the actress award at the Oscars, given she had already clinched the title at many of the significant pre-Oscar ceremonies for her performance in “The Substance.

In the indie movie Anora, budgeted at a substantial $6 million, Mikey depicts a character who is an escort. This film earned Sean Baker the title of Best Director. During her heartfelt acceptance speech, she acknowledged and paid tribute to the sex worker community.

In simpler terms, she expressed that she wants to acknowledge and respect once more the community of sex workers. She is committed to this, affirming it with a yes. In other words, she intends to keep supporting them and standing as their advocate.

‘Meeting all the amazing individuals, particularly the women, within that community has been a truly memorable part of an already extraordinary journey for me.’

At the close of the evening, our film clinched the prestigious Best Picture Award, outshining contenders such as The Brutalist, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Dune: Part Two, Emilia Pérez, I’m Still Here, Nickel Boys, The Substance, and Wicked.

In a turn of events, Anora’s screenwriter and director, Sean Baker, received recognition with three awards: Best Original Screenplay, Excellence in Film Editing, and the prestigious title of Best Director.

I, as a dedicated follower, find myself immersed in a narrative that revolves around me, a young escort named Ani (portrayed by Mikey), hailing from Brooklyn. In an unexpected turn of events, I impulsively tie the knot with the son of a powerful Russian oligarch. However, as this news reverberates through Russia, my idyllic tale begins to unravel, as his parents make their way to New York with the intention of annulling our marriage.

Adrien Brody took home his second ever Best Actor award earlier in the night.

The 51-year-old actor interrupted the music that was about to play as he was honored for his performance in The Brutalist.

He emerged victorious over a remarkable group of contenders, which included Timothée Chalamet in “A Complete Unknown,” Colman Domingo in “Sing Sing,” Ralph Fiennes in “Conclave,” and Sebastian Stan in “The Apprentice.

Adrian previously won Best Actor for his work on classic film The Piano back in 2003.

Zoe Saldaña quelled the uproar surrounding her film Emilia Pérez by winning the Best Supporting Actress award, putting the debate to rest.

The show hit a high note as the 46-year-old American actress was crowned for the Netflix film.

Monica Barbaro, Ariana Grande, Felicity Jones, and Isabella Rossellini all emerged victorious in their respective roles: “A Complete Unknown”, “Wicked”, “The Brutalist”, and “Conclave”.

Monica Barbaro, Ariana Grande, Felicity Jones, and Isabella Rossellini conquered their parts in “A Complete Unknown”, “Wicked”, “The Brutalist”, and “Conclave”.

Zoe was the initial Oscar recipient of Dominican origin, and she didn’t forget to acknowledge her ancestors for clearing the path that led to a prosperous acting career in the United States.

Emilia Pérez found herself under scrutiny following the unearthing of offensive, racist, and Islamophobic posts made by her co-star Karla Sofía Gascón on social media, with some of these messages being quite contemporary.

Netflix took the step of no longer funding Gascón’s trips to award ceremonies; however, she was still present at the Oscars.

The award show started out in fine form as Kieran Culkin took home the first award of the night.

The 42-year-old actor began by winning the award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in “A Real Pain.

He outperformed a notable group that included Yura Borisov (Anora), Edward Norton (A Complete Unknown), Guy Pearce (The Brutalist), and his fellow cast member from Succession, Jeremy Strong (The Apprentice).

In a historic win, Paul Tazewell, from the acclaimed production “Wicked”, made headlines by becoming the inaugural Black male recipient of the award for Excellence in Costume Design.
