Oscars viewers criticise Academy for leaving Michelle Trachtenberg out of In Memoriam segment

Critics have expressed disappointment towards the Academy, as they believe Michelle Trachtenberg should have been included in the In Memoriam segment during this year’s Oscars ceremony.

Regrettably, the star died a week ago at the tender age of 39, yet despite an emotional homage from Morgan Freeman for Gene Hackman, who also departed this life the following day, Trachtenberg was omitted from the tribute.

And the omission wasn’t missed by those watching along at home.

One viewer expressed disappointment by stating, “It’s unfortunate that the Oscars overlooked Michelle Trachtenberg in their tribute for actors/actresses who passed away this year.” Another viewer found it disturbing and said, “The omission of Michelle Trachtenberg from the memorial montage was incredibly disrespectful.

Besides them, other viewers also took notice and expressed their disapproval. For instance, one critic remarked, “It’s downright insulting,” while another pointed out, “The omission of Michelle Trachtenberg from the In Memoriam section at the Oscars is truly disappointing.

A viewer commented, “Michelle Trachtenberg has spent her whole life immersed in show business, working in both film and television. Yet, she was overlooked during the In Memoriam segment at the Oscars!? That just doesn’t seem fair.

As a dedicated gamer, I couldn’t help but notice that some names that resonate deeply in the pop culture realm seemed to be overlooked in the In Memoriam segment. Names like Tony Todd, the legendary figure from the horror genre, and Shannen Doherty, who left an indelible mark on my gaming experiences, were noticeably absent.

On the official Oscars website’s In Memoriam section, all the actors are listed, indicating the numerous other individuals whose tributes were unfortunately omitted from the broadcast segment.

After the demise of their “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” colleague, Sarah Michelle Gellar expressed a heartfelt tribute to him.
