Following Timothée Chalamet‘s victory at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, there was much speculation as to who might take home the Best Actor award at the Oscars – between him and Adrien Brody.
As it happens, Chalamet settled for the SAG award since Brody won the Actor in a Leading Role for “The Brutalist“.
Brody’s victory marks him as the initial performer to triumph in his inaugural two nominations within the Actor in a Leading Role classification. This success also secures his status as the youngest actor on record to claim victory in that category.
I’m deeply grateful for the immense amount of affection I’ve received from people all around the world, especially those who have shown me respect and appreciation. I consider myself incredibly lucky. Acting is a delicate line of work,” he emphasized.

The pair found themselves competing with Colman Domingo, Ralph Fiennes, and Sebastian Stan in the event as well, but it seldom appeared that anyone among them would pull off an unexpected victory during the evening.
While the Best Actor category was up in the air, the supporting categories were easier to predict.
Just as anticipated, Kieran Culkin and Zoe Saldaña triumphed in their particular categories, culminating a series of award ceremonies that saw them secure victories at all significant events prior to the Oscars.
2021’s Oscars ceremony kicked off with an impressive show by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, and included a stirring tribute to James Bond, complete with musical numbers from the members of Blackpink (Lisa), Doja Cat, and RAYE.
