Inside Out 3 gets positive update
Pixar’s Inside Out 3 has received a positive update following the huge success of the second one.
It’s yet to be formally declared that a third installment of Riley’s emotional journeys is in the works, but the creators at Pixar are already brainstorming ideas for the upcoming chapter (and potentially more).
In a conversation with The Direct during the Saturn Awards, Dave Holstein, one of the writers for Inside Out 2, mentioned that there have been talks about the storyline happening at Pixar. However, he also emphasized that these discussions have been rather limited so far.
As a gamer, let me put it this way: Man, the second movie is still riding the wave of fun! I’m convinced that at some point we’ll see a third one, and if luck is on our side, maybe even four, five, six, seven, eight installments of Inside Out. That’s just my two cents.
The series concept, along with its main character, seems ripe for multiple follow-ups, as per Holstein’s perspective, there’s sufficient depth to continue the storyline.
He elaborated that for each fresh film, it’s important for the storyline to evolve, and with each subsequent installment, there should be a fundamental shift in the plot structure.
It’s fantastic that Riley will drive this franchise because she is about to embark on a new phase of her life, where the base of her existence may shift. As your desires in life evolve, so does your identity and self-perception.

It’s been nine years since the release of “Inside Out 2,” but given that it earned double the revenue of the original at the box office (and held the title for the highest-grossing animated film until last month), Disney might not delay another sequel for such a long time.
