In the end, The Brutalist secured the runner-up spot with a total of 10 nominations across various categories. These included nods for Best Picture, Best Director (Brady Corbet), Lead Actor (Adrien Brody), Supporting Actors (Guy Pearce and Felicity Jones), and Original Screenplay.

In this rephrased version: Brody plays a Hungarian Jewish architect, László Tóth, who emigrates to America following the Holocaust. The film, an expansive historical drama, narrates Tóth’s struggle to bring his artistic ideas to life amidst clashes with the self-centered wishes of his affluent patron (Pearce).

In the nominations, Wicked earned a total of 10, among them were nods for Best Picture, Actress (Cynthia Erivo), and Supporting Actress (Ariana Grande).

The hit musical, based on just the initial segment of its namesake, serves as a creative prequel to “The Wizard of Oz.” It stars Erivo as Elphaba, destined to be the Wicked Witch of the West, and Grande as Galinda Upland, who later becomes Glinda the Good.

Among the other nominated photographs are Anora, A Complete Unknown, Conclave, Dune: Chapter Two, I’m Still Here, The Nickel Boys, and The Substance.

At the Screen Actors Guild Awards, held a week prior to the Oscars, there was an unexpected twist in the highly anticipated best actor category for leading roles. This unexpected change occurred when Timothée Chalamet won for his performance in the Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown.

Before that victory, Brody had been considered the front-runner due to his wins at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards, the BAFTAs, the Golden Globes, and the Critics Choice Movie Awards for best actor.

Ralph Fiennes persistently remains a strong contender for his portrayal of a British Cardinal, who is battling to prevent a clandestine papal election from turning into a contest and a web of mystery.

As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the widely praised movie has garnered numerous victories for its actors at smaller events and gatherings, specifically for Fiennes. Moreover, the entire acting troupe has been honored with several accolades, and on more than one occasion, Fiennes has graciously accepted these awards on behalf of our exceptional team.

Among the top three contenders, there’s a fierce competition happening, not just among themselves, but also with Colman Domingo for his role in Sing Sing and Sebastian Stan for his portrayal of a young Donald Trump on The Apprentice.

In my perspective, there seems to be no obvious favorite for the Best Actress category. However, Demi Moore has truly made a remarkable comeback with her captivating performance in the satirical body-horror film, The Substance. This outstanding portrayal earned her the esteemed Best Actress awards from the Critics Choice Awards and the Golden Globes, along with several accolades from critics’ organizations.

However, winning at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards a week prior indicates that she could be in an excellent position to take home the Oscar, given her nomination for the very first time.

Actress Mikey Madison, portraying an adult dancer who unexpectedly ties the knot with the son of a prominent Russian business magnate, garnered significant praise and recognition from various critic groups during the initial phase of the series.

Following my triumph at the BAFTAs for Best Lead Actress, my odds of success skyrocketed even further. I then added another accolade to my collection – the Independent Spirit Award in the gender-neutral lead performance category.

Initially, Emilia Pérez seemed like a strong contender for the award, but her chances took a hit when old tweets containing racist and Islamophobic remarks, previously unnoticed, were translated to English and brought to light, drawing widespread criticism.

Following the revelation of her controversial posts, Gascón has chosen not to participate in award ceremonies since then. Despite several attempts at apologies, it is said that Netflix no longer covers Gascón’s travel and accommodation expenses for these events. Among those nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category are: Monica Barbaro (for A Complete Unknown), Ariana Grande (for Wicked), Felicity Jones (for The Brutalist), Isabella Rossellini (for Conclave) and Zoe Saldaña (for Emilia Pérez).

It seems that Saldaña is currently the front-runner, having secured victories at the Golden Globes, BAFTA Awards, SAG Awards, and Critics Choice Awards in succession.

However, certain initial honors had voting phases that concluded before the Gascón controversy arose, meaning that any voters disenchanted with Emilia Pérez due to this matter might have already cast their votes, potentially affecting her chances negatively.

As a devoted enthusiast following this year’s awards season, I find myself confidently tipping my hat towards Kieran Culkin in the supporting actor category. His consistent victories for his performance in “A Real Pain” have solidified his status as the clear frontrunner.

Additional candidates vying for the awards are Yura Borisov for Anora, Edward Norton for A Complete Stranger, Guy Pearce for The Brutalized, and Jeremy Strong for The Mentor.

Initially, it appeared that Emilia Pérez had the strongest chance among the nominated pictures to win. However, Gascon’s controversial posts may jeopardize these prospects.

2021’s original song category includes two songs by Emilia Pérez – El Mal and Mi Camino, the new Elton John track Never Too Late (from its namesake documentary), Like a Bird by Sing Sing, and the most recent composition from Diane Warren titled The Journey.
