G2 valyn on the silver lining coming out of the VALORANT Masters Bangkok Grand Final
On esports.gg, Valyn was asked about the final result of the VALORANT Masters Bangkok championship matchup between G2 and T1.
In the VALORANT Masters Bangkok Grand Final, teams G2 Esports and T1 played a nail-biting match that extended beyond the usual five maps. The final two maps required overtime, which ultimately favored T1, leading them to claim victory. This left Jacob “valyn” Batio and his G2 teammates visibly disappointed.
Despite the intense feelings, they did indeed participate in the post-game press conference. There, the IGL was addressed with a query from Xpsp. However, due to the emotional state, they responded to just a few questions. We appreciate valyn for addressing our queries effectively.
G2 valyn is confident his team will win the next one
Since The Guard was no longer participating in the VCT, we’ve counted a total of 551 days leading up to the Grand Final in Bangkok. During this time, the team has made significant progress, reaching numerous grand final matches, capturing regional trophies, and finally finding the missing pieces that completed their strategy.
Despite losing in the Grand Final of Masters Bangkok to T1, they have grown significantly and achieved much. With more Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) ahead in 2025, could there be a positive outcome from this experience? This is what valyn had to express:
Although they were defeated by T1 in the Grand Final of Masters Bangkok, their progress and sense of achievement are undeniable. With more Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) events coming up in 2025, could there be a favorable outcome stemming from this experience? Let me share valyn’s thoughts:
A positive aspect for me? I believe that showcased some of the greatest resilience my team has demonstrated so far, without a doubt. We played exceptionally well, but it wasn’t quite enough. Earlier, I reminded them that the life of a competitor is the toughest challenge out there, truly.
You experience both the deepest valleys and the loftiest peaks when working with your team. Life inevitably includes setbacks everywhere we go. So, I explained to them, what is a life devoid of defeats? We never desired such a thing.
Despite the current setback, there’s always another tournament ahead. This experience we’ve gained is invaluable and will push us to improve even more. I yearn to express to them just how significant they are to me, my team. I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything else.
Despite all the tough challenges we’ve faced together, you guys are simply amazing at this game! You make each day enjoyable and exciting, even when we don’t come out on top. It’s okay that we lost this time; I’m learning to accept it. But don’t worry, my friend, we’re going to win the next one for sure!
– G2 valyn in the Grand Final post-match press conference
He clearly cherishes his teammates and their past achievements, but it seems he values even more what they can still achieve. The Masters Toronto and Champions Paris tournaments lie ahead, along with two challenging regional events in the Americas. These will undoubtedly push them to their limits.
