Rob Lowe Slams Nicole Kidman’s ‘Brave’ Sex Scenes in Controversial Podcast Rant

This week, Rob Lowe didn’t hold back his criticism when it appeared he was criticizing actors lauded for their steamy contemporary Hollywood love scenes.

On his “Literally!” podcast, the veteran actor frankly discussed the intimate May-December scenes involving Nicole Kidman in the 2024 film “Babygirl,” which he starred alongside Kristin Davis.

When Davis mentioned the movie, the 60-year-old ex-child actor conceded that it was an excellent film, yet he playfully ridiculed those critics labeling the provocative production as ‘courageous’.

He acknowledged that it was quite impressive, and it was also very warm. Regarding the lead actress, he commented, “She’s courageous for having an intimate scene; that takes a lot of bravery these days.

Later, Lowe mentioned a long-standing guideline from the industry: ‘During our time, such a romantic scene was essential. It was known as the “Page 73 Rule.”‘

He explained that actors could always find the romantic scenes written on page 73 of the script.

He recounted, “When I received the script, I found myself thinking, ‘This seems rather excessive. Is there a chance I might need to be nude in this role?’ So, I took a look.

The star added, ‘You weren’t required to read the entire manuscript. You turned to page 73 during the middle of the second act due to that specific point.’

He posed a question dramatically, “How do you navigate through the most challenging part of the story, often referred to as the trickiest terrain in storytelling?

It was known that they would visit the Blue Lagoon and spend time together under a moonlit night. However, now, I find their actions incredibly courageous.
