MasterChef Star’s Shocking Weight Loss: Fans Fear for His Health!

Supporters of Reynold Poernomo have expressed concerns about the well-being of the MasterChef Australia celebrity, as he appeared noticeably slender in his most recent social media update.

On a typical Friday, a well-known gourmet enthusiast showcased his culinary skills by uploading a series of images on Instagram, detailing the preparation of a personalized, four-course meal designed especially for the prestigious French leather brand, Longchamp, in the bustling city of Jakarta.

The video demonstrated Reynold leading fans step-by-step in making the initial course from the menu: clear tomato broth infused with semi-dried cherry tomatoes, filled with tomato preserve.

Instead, it appeared that fans were primarily expressing their concern for the well-being of the celebrity chef, often drawing attention to his noticeably thin physique in their comments.

One fan dared to ask, “Why are you looking so slim?” Another chimed in, “Have you managed to shed any pounds recently?

A third chimed in with: ‘Reynold you have lost a lot [of] weight.’

Reynold didn’t ignore the issue; instead, he addressed it in a later post on his Instagram story.

Following the upload of his video, Reynold subsequently posted a picture displaying him giving a thumbs-up gesture as he spoke about his noticeable weight reduction.

‘Thank you all for being concerned about my weight,’ he wrote over the image. 

Yes, I look skinny in my latest post.’

Reynold explained that he had lost weight due to an unpleasant case of food poisoning which occurred during his stay in Jakarta.

On the day I chose to boost my consumption,” Reynold confessed, “the initial meal (steak and eggs) wreaked havoc on my system, causing the most awful bout of food poisoning.

He shared that he found it unexpected, given that he had enjoyed a meal at an excellent restaurant in Jakarta, when he suddenly fell ill.

He explained, “I was incredibly dehydrated…whatever I drank didn’t get absorbed or remain in my body…that’s the reason I appear so thin.

Additionally, he acknowledged that his weight loss had become so significant that his clothes started becoming too big for his diminishing physique.

‘My eyes were sunken in, clothes didn’t even fit me properly,’ he wrote.

At the end of the post, Reynold reassured his followers that he’s recovering well and has returned to his usual self.

‘In the end, I had about three IV sessions in a week, jus so I can function and work.

He concluded his post by saying, ‘I’m all better now, feeling strong and healthy again.’ He added a smiley face emoji at the end.

Reynold became well-known during the seventh series of MasterChef Australia, ultimately placing fourth in the competition.

In 2020, he once again took on his character in the 12th season of the Channel Ten series, and this time, he managed to secure a third-place position.

In 2023, he gave it another go for the inaugural season of the Dessert Masters Australia spin-off.

Victory was not to be however, with Reynold named as runner up behind winner Gareth Whitton.

After his loss, Reynold expressed his dismay on Instagram, lamenting that despite his delightful culinary creations, he had neither received an award nor been critically reviewed.

Accompanying a collection of images showcasing him diligently preparing an array of tasty pastries in the kitchen, he penned a poignant message.

Even though I didn’t win this time, I hold my head up with pride. Regrettably, my top two desserts that I created for Experiential may not have been the standouts tonight.

He mentioned his excitement about potentially being honored with an award for the delectable desserts he devotes numerous hours to preparing in the kitchen.

Over the past eight years, it’s been incredibly difficult to capture the notice of Australian food media. Not once have I received a review or won an award during this time, as stated by him.

I decided to return and expose myself again, giving others a glimpse into my life, while also pushing myself among my contemporaries.

I’m deeply appreciative for this chance and feel a strong sense of honor as a self-taught cook. Once more, thank you all for making this possible.
