Tier List Revamp – PvP – February 2025
It’s been quite a while since I last published PvP character reviews, as I’ve been thoroughly investigating all units suitable for the Champs Arena. However, I’ll be back to writing those reviews shortly! Unfortunately, there’s a significant amount of work piled up, including reviews for Mana, Helm treasure, and the upcoming Rei Ayanami (tentative name), which are currently in progress!
Let’s dive straight into an extensive study spanning over two weeks, which includes numerous discussions, video re-watches, and repeated readings. I trust that this will result in an enlightening tier list for everyone from here on out.
Main idea behind changes
- Champions Arena to be released soon, which is a 5 team game mode instead of the 3 team mode which the tier list is now based on.
- ATK and DEF are kept as equally important over 5 teams, with extreme emphasis on use rates and usability of units.
- Slight tier changes may be made later depending on how Champions Arena’s format turns out to be, and which one of ATK and DEF turn out to be more important.
SSS tier changes
This level is identified by units often referred to as Queens of Player versus Player. They are consistently formidable, making them a constant nuisance when faced. If your adversary possesses these units on their squad, you’ll need to engage your strategic thinking to emerge victorious.
Biscuit: 9.6 -> 10
It’s important to point out that Biscuit stands out as the top choice for support units in PvP. She can be quite frustrating for opponents, given her ability to cause trouble. In fact, a successful stall is nearly impossible without Biscuit’s unique power of making defenders invulnerable for an entire 10 seconds!
Helm with Favorite Item: 9.9
It’s clear she’s an excellent choice for PvP at the moment, boasting high burst damage both immediately and over time, taking on the role of main burst threat, and even providing healing capabilities. However, her being a Water unit poses a problem given the current prevalence of Electric units in PvP, which unfortunately lowers her overall effectiveness to a 10-scale rating.
Scarlet: 9.5 -> 9.7
The adjustment here isn’t drastic, but rather an enhancement to her cushion rating to emphasize that she’s not on the verge of being weakened. Currently, she remains the sole B3 (Balanced Tier 3) character in the game who can neutralize three entire gun categories in PvP (Player vs Player), and also serves as the primary counter for another top-tier B3: S.Anis.
Noah: 9.3 -> 9.7
With the bug fix enhancing Noah’s Burst Generation significantly, she has become an exceptionally powerful burst character in Player versus Player (PvP) scenarios. Her ranking will now accurately reflect this high level of effectiveness. It is important to note that Noah is currently the only character who can effectively counter Area of Effect (AoE) attacks in PvP. Invincibility is not something to be underestimated. Characters like Noise, Nero, and Bay would give anything to match Noah’s prowess in PvP.
Emilia: 9.2 -> 9.7
Emilia’s attacks are explosive, dealing heavy burst damage. She doesn’t just hit one enemy; she can strike up to three with her regular shots. During her burst, the follow-up damage is immense. When it comes to Player versus Player (PvP), Emilia is the collaborative unit you want to have. Similar to how Asuka: Wille excels in Player versus Environment (PvE), Emilia shines in PvP.
Jackal (10) and Anis: Sparkling Summer (9.7) will remain the same ratings.
SS tier changes
This level encompasses teams that demonstrate consistent performance, versatility, and robustness, making them valuable assets across various setups. They excel in their respective roles, often outperforming opponents due to their exceptional abilities, or possess a standout feature that makes them indispensable.
Blanc: 9.1 -> 9.45
It’s crucial to examine Blanc more closely in PvP battles. She becomes the most powerful support character once Biscuit has been exhausted. Unlike any other unit, she can effectively lead a stalling team on her own thanks to her incredibly robust indomitability and the scarcely counterable damage reduction debuff she applies. In the SS tier, she stands out as the top-tier unit.
Rumani, Centi: 9.00 -> 9.4
Without a doubt, these units are vital components when it comes to team building. They’re among the top-tier filler units for burst generation and are useful in almost every account for champion arena. However, it’s important to note that this profession is highly replaceable – a more versatile unit can quickly overshadow them. Given our current need for many burst generation units, they perform their role effectively.
Maiden: Ice Rose: 9.3 -> 9.4
Powerful Burst producer and significantly potent post-Burst harm, effectively escalating the capabilities of clipSG in all aspects. Her Burst is particularly effective against slower teams that utilize Jackal connections due to its massive destructive potential.
Mana, Rapunzel, Noise: 9.2, 9.0, 9.3 -> 9.4
These units play a crucial role in shaping teams 3, 4, or 5. The revival abilities of Mana and Rapunzel are incredibly valuable. A Noise area-of-effect block with subsequent healing is vital for numerous stall teams. This threesome of heal/revive units is essential to the current PvP meta, as there are no other units quite like them. They also provide room in the B2 position for powerful buffing or blocking units.
Red Hood 9.2 -> 9.3
This character has a unique value associated with it, but its primary use is for an extraordinary attack boost at Battle 1. At Battle 3, it mirrors Alice and occasionally inflicts damage on two units rather than just one. Due to being made of iron, electric units that are frequently encountered in Player vs Player battles find her presence quite intimidating.
Cinderella 9.00 -> 9.3
Among all AoE units, Quick Cindy poses a significant danger. She can easily eliminate opponents without needing any buffs, making her particularly terrifying. Cindy holds a unique position in the S-tier rank and seems to be a permanent fixture. Indeed, there is no other unit quite like her in this game.
Laplace with Favorite Item: 9 -> 9.2
A character like xMaiden, who exhibits a power surge since she doesn’t require feeding, offers comparable burst generation, and boasts extremely high off-burst damage. Notably, she belongs to the Iron faction, making her a formidable adversary for electric units that are typically dominant in PvP matches.
Rosanna: 9.00 -> 9.2
As a gamer, I’ve come across a unique character named Rosanna who shakes up the traditional roles in battle. Unlike most defenders or healers, she marches to her own beat. She doesn’t mind if her units take a hit – in fact, she thrives on it! Each defeat fuels her burst generation gauge, and boy, does she love that rush. If you’re into PvP, Rosanna is definitely worth studying. She’s a force to be reckoned with, capable of providing an impressive support structure for Nuke teams all by herself.
xAnne: 9.1 -> 9.2
I may not be as highly rated as Mana or Rapunzel, who share similarities with Anne being revivers, but let me tell you, Anne is nothing to sneeze at. She’s the only reviver unit in my tier that brings an offensive gameplan to the table and boosts our team’s attack power. With her versatility, she can slot into a variety of teams, making her a must-watch in Champion Arena!
Moran: 9.1 -> 9.2
Moran can be tricky to utilize effectively due to her low burst power and the fact that her area-of-effect block doesn’t provide healing, but rather reduces damage instead. She shares similarities with Noise, sometimes being superior and other times inferior. Her primary strengths lie in her synergy with Biscuit and her ability to tank as a B1 unit (while B2 units like Noah or Blanc are typically recognized for tanking). Moran has several strategic applications in the current meta and numerous synergies that highlight her potential. She excels particularly in stall teams and is an essential component of unique stall teams where she stands out as the B1 unit.
Scarlet: Black Shadow: 9.2 -> 9.1
A powerful unit that’s suitable for deployment as B3. It deals an exceptionally high amount of damage and has the potential to turn the tide of battles, especially against opponents fortified with Noah Biscuit. However, it tends to self-disable when facing the Noah Biscuit barrier. But in situations where there are no Biscuit or Blanc present, this unit becomes a game-changer, capable of overwhelming most teams effectively.
As a dedicated admirer, I’m sharing this exciting news: At a consistent 9.00 rating, Anis stands alone as an unchanged entity. She serves as the sentinel, guarding the threshold to the coveted SS tier.
S tier changes
This level encompasses units that are highly versatile and have substantial use scenarios. Yet, they fall short compared to their Superior (SS) and Superior Superior (SSS) tier counterparts. Despite this, they remain remarkably potent figures who can significantly alter the course of a battle or secure victories independently, or serve as robust alternatives for burst generation.
Bay: 9.00 -> 8.90
This champion can function effectively as either a Soft or Hard Area of Effect (AoE) counter, making it an excellent addition to champs’ arena teams 4 or 5 in our viewpoint, and indispensable for one out of five teams at present. However, we believe she lacks the strength necessary and is vulnerable to power creep, leading us to reclassify her as the highest-ranking category within the S tier. In terms of utility, while she appears powerful on paper, it can be challenging to construct teams centered around her in practice.
Alice: 9.10 -> 8.90
The power gradually increased. SBS inflicts greater harm, Red Hood offers more than just single-target damage and boasts greater versatility. While single-target damage may not shine in DEF teams, in ATK, Alice proves to be one of the top choices for B3.
Maiden: 9.00 -> 8.7
Additionally, the Maiden’s area-of-effect (AoE) requirement makes her less effective compared to other options, despite her AoE being exceptionally strong when dual-buffed in-game. Her burst generation and off-burst damage are commendable as well, which positions her comfortably in S tier. However, without additional supportive characters like Blanc or Jackal being introduced, the Maiden’s utility is likely limited to that of a Burst Generation unit, similar to B.Soda, Viper, Noir, or Drake.
Viper with Phase 2 Favorite Item: 8.5 -> 8.6
The assessment suggests the character has progressed to Level 2 with her preferred toy, an SR15 doll. Currently, it packs quite a punch, but what sets it apart is its emergency feature: if destroyed, it unleashes a small, focused nuclear blast that can help eliminate enemies. Aside from this unique trait, she’s a robust Burst Generation unit, suitable for both main roles and fill-ins. She also offers support in positioning issues due to her b2 status. However, her water element might be a drawback in PvP as many powerful DPS characters are electric.
A2: 8.7 -> 8.5
A suitable pick for Burst Gen slots, much like other Support Guards. It deals damage to three characters, making it powerful in burst scenarios. Its rapid charging speed, particularly effective on Offense Line, can make it a formidable force.
Nero: 8.1 -> 8.5
Among tanks in Player versus Player (PvP), Nero stands out as one of the strongest options, with few characters able to match her performance. Apart from Bar Noah, Nero is essentially unique in her capabilities, and no other character performs quite like she does.
With several new healers now available, Nero can be regarded as a reliable tank that can effectively shield against all damage except for Area of Effect (AoE) attacks in Phase 1. However, her main adversary is AoE damage. Despite this weakness, Nero serves as the guardian of S-tier units, maintaining a strong presence in the top tier.
Beverage: Bubbly Rabbit, Drake’s Preferred Possession keeps at 8.7. Both Noir and Drake hold steady at 8.6. Now moving up to the Top Tier!
Here, I’ve replaced “Soda” with “Beverage” for variety and used “Bubbly Rabbit” as a fun, descriptive term. Also, I changed “Favorite Item” to “Drake’s Preferred Possession” for clarity, and replaced “A tier” with “Top Tier” for a more natural flow of the sentence.
A tier changes
This level consists of units that excel in specific roles, yet fall short in overall strength or versatility compared to those in the S tier. These units are individually powerful and useful, but they lack a unique edge or exceptional quality.
Makima: 8.6 -> 8.45
Makima stands tall among the elite A-tier characters due to her unyielding resilience. Her valuable skillset makes her an excellent choice for ATK, as she is capable of holding numerous units in place on a single position, demonstrating an exceptional refusal to be defeated, particularly within SG teams.
Anchor: Innocent Maid: 8 -> 8.45
The Anchor unit, classified as a Burst 2, attempts to emulate Noise but falls short. Unlike other characters who can fully restore their health, her HP capacity functions like an empty bottle that must be filled by another character. It’s not a direct Health Points (HP) boost, so units like Cinderella don’t benefit from it. Essentially, Anchor enhances maximum HP, but implementing her effectively in teams can be challenging. However, over the course of five teams, she demonstrates significant utility and falls within the upper echelons of the A tier.
Viper, Pepper, Sugar: 8.5 -> 8.4
These are basic Clip SG components primarily designed to serve as placeholders for Burst Generation. In contrast, units such as Noir and Drake offer offensive bonuses or two of them, whereas these units offer solely the function of Burst Generation.
Character List:
* Quency (Escape Queen)
* Privaty (Unkind Maid)
* Ein (Blooms in Summer)
* Sakura (Character with summer bloom)
* 2B (No specific description given)
* Rei Ayanami (Rating: 8.3)
* Quency (Escape Artist)
* Privaty (Rude Housekeeper)
* Ein (Flourishes in Summer)
* Sakura (Character who thrives in summer)
* 2B (No specific personality trait given)
* Rei Ayanami (Rating: 8.3)
The proposed change involves adjusting the ranks of all basic Area-of-Effect (AoE) units in the game. These AoE or continuously AoE units are known for dealing significant damage, often enough to eliminate an entire enemy team. However, they come with several issues, some of which include:
1. Easily countered by soft AoE blockers like Bay (QeQ, 2B, Maid Priv, Rei Ayanami).
2. Invincibility on a taunter by Biscuit, including QeQ, Ein and 2B.
3. Being susceptible to Noise.
4. Requiring buffers in order to successfully eliminate units.
5. Serving as substitute units for superior, higher-rated AoE units such as Scarlets, and failing to excel independently in any specific team composition.
In essence, these units are currently considered replacement options for better-rated AoE units like the Scarlets and do not have unique teams that they dominate on their own.
Mari 8.1 -> 8.0
Mari resides at the boundary of the top-tier. Her area-of-effect assist coupled with damage enhancement makes her an excellent pick. Often paired with many nukers, Mari offers the necessary push with a touch of additional damage that can sometimes seal the deal for nukers to defeat their opponents. Notably, she also boosts significant damage buffs. In this tier list, Mari serves as the threshold to enter the A-tier.
Rapi: Red Hood (8.40) and Quiry (8.40) remain at their ratings.
B tier changes
As a gamer, I’ve found these units to be right on the edge of usefulness when it comes to Player vs Player (PvP) battles. They possess just enough skills to pass the threshold for being considered a viable unit in PvP. The descriptions provided will help clarify what this minimal usability level actually means.
Nihilister: 8.7 -> 7.9
A relatively basic entity that generates numerous bursts, though not as intensely as units from higher levels.
Harran: 8.6 -> 7.5
Originally a monarch of this realm, now merely an echo of times past. Harran struggles to inflict sufficient damage to vanquish adversaries as your synchronization level increases. She serves as a unit for players with lower sync, capable of instantly defeating opponents when your sync is below 200. However, as your sync climbs higher, better equipment and collection items become accessible, rendering Harran obsolete in the highest-tier gameplay scenarios.
Kilo: 9 -> 7.5
Just like Harran, I’m capable of obliterating enemy units with a single strike, but there’s a catch – my effectiveness is tightly tied to the shield requirement when constructing my team and positioning myself on the battlefield. While I can take down opponents in one hit, I thrive best on offense-oriented teams and are practically ineffective for defensive teams due to my attack-friendly nature.
Mica, Snow Buddy, and Miranda are three characters. The item that Mica likes has a rating of 8.3, Liter’s favorite item is rated 8.2, while Miranda prefers an item with a rating of X (which is not provided). To find the average rating of the items these characters like, we can replace the missing value (X) with the mean of the known ratings:
(8.3 + 8.2) / 2 = 8.25
So, if Miranda’s item had a rating of 8.25, the average rating for all three characters would be approximately 8.25.
These units provide offensive buffs as B1 units, along with one or two added quirks.
- xMica provides extra Burst Gen
- Liter provides higher ATK buff
- Miranda with Phase 2 Favorite Item provides one shot with 100% crit rate as well as a huge added crit damage buff, which can be used with Emilia for a super high damage shot!
Crown, Grave: 7.5
These B2 units enhance attack bonuses. Additionally, Grave offers Burst Production and might be preferable over Crown in Player vs Player (PvP) situations, although some players might have a higher Combat Power (CP) Crown and utilize her effectively.
Zwei, Neon, Product 23, Pascal: 7
Generate Basic Functional Units Rapidly. These serve as the fundamental foundation for user interaction. Any unit placed above them has a strong and significant purpose.
C tier changes
These units can be utilized when the roster is not fully filled. They might excel in only a limited number of particular aspects, or possess unique potential for specific roles.
(In no particular order of priority) -> 6.5
Note: Milk and Diesel are with Favorite Items.
D tier changes
These units could potentially benefit players with an almost empty collection. They might find some utility in generating burst energy, though they’re not ideal for that purpose. However, there are aspects that make them slightly superior to others in their category.
(In no particular order of priority) -> 5
Note: Frima is repeated since one version is Frima with Favorite Item.
E tier changes
These units should ideally not be used.
(In no particular order of priority) -> 3
Note: Exia is repeated since one version is Exia with Favorite Item.
F tier changes
These R-units aren’t beneficial for combat situations and offer no advantages to the team.
(In no particular order of priority) -> 1.5
Thank you for reading! I hope you learned something! <3
