Ubisoft is releasing a new Star Wars Monopoly game soon, but some popular villains are missing from the character lineup. With so many Star Wars stories across movies, books, and games since 1977, there’s a large pool of villains to choose from. While some villains are more memorable than others, a few definitely deserved a spot in the new Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains game.
I’m so excited for this new game! I’ve heard it’s coming to the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and even the new Switch 2, and the roster is incredible. They’re including a whopping 28 characters you can actually play as, perfectly split between 14 amazing heroes and 14 devious villains. It’s going to be awesome!
The game is creating its own ranking of the most important Star Wars villains. It’s identified 14 characters as the biggest threats in the franchise, including well-known figures like Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine. However, some choices, like Aurra Sing, feel less significant and could potentially be swapped for more iconic villains.
Here’s a complete rundown of the villains you’ll encounter in the Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains game.
- Darth Vader
- Dedra
- General Grievous
- Aurra Sing
- Boba Fett
- Cad Bane
- Captain Phasma
- Count Dooku
- Darth Maul
- Fennec Shand
- Asajj Ventress
- Kylo Ren
- Emperor Palpatine
- Reva Sevander
7 Star Wars Villains Left Out of the Monopoly Game
Moff Gideon

A surprising omission from the Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains game is Moff Gideon. While not as iconic as Darth Vader or the Emperor, Gideon has become a significant figure in the Star Wars galaxy. He served as the primary villain throughout all three seasons of The Mandalorian, a show widely considered the most popular Star Wars series Disney has produced.
Gideon is a more significant villain in Star Wars than characters like Aurra Sing, Fennec Shand, and Reva, appearing more often and having a larger overall impact on the story. Plus, Fennec Shand isn’t really a villain at all – she’s more of an anti-hero, which makes her presence in the game a bit strange.
Darth Revan

Although Darth Revan doesn’t have a deeply explored history in official Star Wars materials, he is still considered part of the established story. He’s undeniably one of the most beloved Star Wars villains, and his influence on the overall narrative is greater than many characters who’ve been featured throughout the entire franchise.
Revan remains a highly popular character, and fans continue to hope Disney and Lucasfilm will bring his story and the Old Republic era into official Star Wars canon. Many believe that if Disney+ were to create a show or movie series about Revan, he could quickly become one of the franchise’s most famous and memorable villains.
Tarkin

Although Darth Vader is more famous, Grand Moff Tarkin was actually the primary villain in the original Star Wars film, A New Hope. While Vader later took center stage in The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and the prequel films, Tarkin initially represented the power and cruelty of the Galactic Empire.
Grand Moff Tarkin made the call to destroy Alderaan and personally ensured the Emperor’s orders were followed. He was a powerful figure, even giving commands to Darth Vader in A New Hope. This makes him one of the most significant villains in the Star Wars saga. We’ve learned more about his background over time through shows like Star Wars Rebels and The Bad Batch, and there are still pieces of his story yet to be revealed.
Thrawn

Grand Admiral Thrawn has been a popular character in the Star Wars universe since the 1990s, first appearing in Timothy Zahn’s Heir to the Empire novels. He’s since become officially part of the Star Wars story and has been featured in shows like Star Wars Rebels and Ahsoka.
Grand Admiral Thrawn is a remarkably well-developed villain, thanks to the many novels dedicated to his story. He’s set to play a significant role in both Season 2 of Ahsoka and the upcoming event that will conclude the MandoVerse storylines, similar to Avengers: Endgame. Therefore, any list of the greatest Star Wars villains that doesn’t include him is truly surprising.
Jango Fett

While Jango Fett isn’t as famous as some other Star Wars villains, he was incredibly important to the story, especially in the prequels and The Clone Wars. He provided the genetic template for the entire clone army created on Kamino, meaning we wouldn’t have the clone troopers – or even Boba Fett – without him.
Jango Fett isn’t always the first villain people think of when discussing Star Wars’ greatest bad guys. Still, his impact on the story is significant and shouldn’t be overlooked, even if he doesn’t reappear in future films.
Snoke

While it turned out Snoke was manipulated by Emperor Palpatine, he still made a significant impact on the Star Wars story. Many viewers were likely shocked and frightened when he was first introduced in The Force Awakens as a massive holographic figure.
A lot of fans expected Snoke to become the new Emperor, with some believing he might even be more powerful than Palpatine. That could have happened if the story had gone in a different direction. However, Rian Johnson unexpectedly killed Snoke in The Last Jedi, and then J.J. Abrams revealed he was just a puppet in Palpatine’s larger scheme. This twist didn’t sit well with a lot of viewers.
The Grand Inquisitor

The Grand Inquisitor quickly became a surprisingly impactful villain. Initially appearing as a key antagonist in the first season of Star Wars Rebels (with a memorable performance by Jason Isaacs), fans assumed his story was over when he was killed off at the season’s end.
I was really glad to see the Grand Inquisitor return with a vengeance in Obi-Wan Kenobi. Honestly, I wouldn’t be shocked if we see him again in future Star Wars projects. It feels like Disney is really leaning into these Inquisitors, and they’re not going anywhere anytime soon. In fact, two Inquisitors are already confirmed for the Maul – Shadow Lord series on Disney+, so a cameo from the Grand Inquisitor there wouldn’t surprise me at all.
