Pete Doherty’s Shocking Health Scare Sparks Exciting New Music Comeback!
Pete Doherty has disclosed that he’s set to perform at a series of unique concerts to celebrate the launch of his forthcoming solo music endeavor.
The lead singer of The Libertines, aged 45, plans to launch his upcoming album titled “Felt Better Alive” on May 16. To mark this milestone, he has scheduled a string of performances at various record stores across the United Kingdom.
Starting off, Pete – who has disclosed a potential need for toe amputation – will initiate the event with a personal concert at Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club.
After that, he’ll perform live at Pryzm Kingston and Rough Trade East London, and tickets and album sales for both events will become available starting at 10am on February 27.
Tickets for both the album and live performances are likely to run out fast, as only a small number can be accommodated at the cozy venues where they’ll be held.
Prior to its launch, Pete has sparked excitement among fans by previewing his upcoming song titled “Calvados”, set to be included in the eagerly awaited album.
Lately, Pete has openly discussed his health situation, sharing that medical professionals have expressed concerns about his Type 2 diabetes potentially leading to the loss of his toes.
On the last five dates of his European tour, the performer was equipped with custom footwear because he sang while seated during those performances.
At a concert in Munich, Germany last week, Pete shared some personal news about his health with his audience, as captured in a video obtained by The Sun.
He mentioned that he visited a doctor today, who advised that it’s crucial for you to minimize walking as much as possible, or you might risk losing your toes.
People diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes face a greater likelihood of encountering various associated health issues, such as the necessity for foot or leg amputations.
During his tour, Pete was inspired by his personal health journey to establish a “wellness retreat” backstage, thanks to the assistance from the Root2Rise team.
The photos indicate that The Libertines have included activities such as yoga, Reiki, and Wim Hof breathing exercises in their schedule to help them relax during their tour.
The unconventional wellness approach known as the “Wim Hof Method,” developed by an extraordinary figure in health, is rumored to alleviate stress, enhance immunity, and potentially aid in managing conditions such as cancer, diabetes, and arthritis.

Sharing glimpses of their collaboration with Pete on Instagram, Root2Rise posted a set of pictures with the caption: “Blending energy from rock ‘n’ roll with tranquility for relaxation!
They noted that: “They show a tremendous amount of affection towards The Libertines, who are revolutionizing the backstage environment with their motivational ‘wellness space.’ This tranquil haven allows them, their team, family, and accompanying bands to find peace amidst the tumultuous touring lifestyle.
Evenings filled with thrilling performances, constant travel, and the excitement of being on the move – they take care of it all with kindness and warmth.
Their dedication to providing spaces for tranquility and relaxation leaves us amazed, and the added benefit of joining in with their melodies just makes it even more appealing! Essentially, an exciting blend of wellness and rock ‘n’ roll.
In the early days of last spring, Pete received confirmation of his type 2 diabetes and mentioned that currently, he struggles with the self-discipline necessary to manage his cholesterol levels.
Pete, who was well-known for his struggles with substance abuse, decided to quit the major harmful substances following a serious health warning from his physician.
To The Guardian’s Saturday Magazine, he stated that he stopped using harmful substances, and his overall health noticeably improved.
Later, you might find yourself learning that substances like alcohol, cheese, and sugar can be equally detrimental to your health. It’s interesting to note that during the time when you were using heroin, your health was reportedly better.

Pete then went on to call himself ‘a bit of a glutton’.
He stated earnestly, “This isn’t a jest. I’ve been officially diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and right now, my self-control is lacking when it comes to managing my cholesterol levels.
It appears that, following some strong advice from his doctor, Pete seems to have been addressing his self-control issues.
Earlier, the star disclosed to the Evening Standard that his physician advised an immediate shift in his eating habits.
He shared with the media: “I’ve consulted a liver specialist who advises me to alter my eating habits due to excessive consumption of cheese and milk.
Even though there are health concerns like high cholesterol and diabetes, the exceptional quality of the cheese keeps me rooted here. Fortunately, there are medications that help mitigate these issues significantly.
Previously, the rocker has openly acknowledged that his fuller physique is due to indulging in a pleasure he feels guilty about.
In 2021, Pete revealed that he had given up drugs in favor of savoring cheese on toast and luxurious sleep-ins, following a six-day stretch of partying excessively during his most reckless times.
A few years back, Pete moved to France together with his wife, Katia de Vidas, and their daughter, Billie-May.
