NaVi CS2 players, staff slam “false” roster change rumors
W0nderful’s apparent downfall at NaVi has been greatly exaggerated.
Members of Natus Vincere’s CS:2 division, both players and staff, have publicly refuted rumors suggesting that their skilled sniper Ihor “w0nderful” Zhdanov is being traded this week. As the team gears up for its first competition in over a month, they stand firm on their roster.
Insiders claim that NaVi CS:GO is considering getting rid of w0nderful, but Amiran “ami” Rekhviashvili, head of esports at NaVi, and Justinas “jL” Lekavičius, the team’s rifler, have refuted these claims, labeling them as untrue and attention-seeking.
“Just for the views”: jL lashes out at insiders as ami states no changes coming
In a clear and straightforward manner, jL from NaVi refuted a statement made by Twitter user “harumi,” who is based in CIS, on February 26th. The claim suggested that w0nderful of NaVi could be benched soon, and that coach B1ad3 was considering promoting cmtry from their academy to the main roster.
According to jL, these individuals who have inside knowledge are posting strange and unverified information for increased attention. However, some members within the CS:GO community were skeptical about this action, but a tweet from NaVi’s head of esports, ami, seems to debunk those suspicions.
Today, Ami expressed that reading the news brings a smile to her face. However, she clarified that there are no plans for a roster change concerning Wonderful at this time. She kindly requested that people cease circulating such unfounded speculations. On a related note, Wonderful has chosen not to comment on the matter.
It appears that today’s conversation suggests that NaVi had no intention of replacing their sniper, as Wonderful joined their organization towards the end of 2023. He was brought in for his impressive performance with Team Spirit and Sprout, immediately proving his worth at the BLAST World Final in 2023.
2024 marked a significant advancement for w0nderful and NaVi. Beyond reaching the top eight at IEM Katowice, NaVi went on to claim first place at PGL Copenhagen Major, which was their first Major victory since Stockholm 2021. Meanwhile, w0nderful concluded the year with four major tournament wins under their belt and an impressive HLTV rating of 1.12.
At the Shanghai Major, Navi’s performance fell short of expectations as they failed to qualify for the playoffs, causing some fans to express concern. However, Wonderful, the Ukrainian sniper, was far from the issue. In fact, he recorded a 1.09 rating, which was only surpassed by his teammate iM.
Marvelous performances continue in green for Navi across their three events in 2025. Following a hiatus, they opted to skip PGL Cluj-Napoca and focus on this week’s ESL Pro League Season 21 instead. Despite some fans wishing for more from Navi’s sniper, there are no signs pointing towards him losing his position any time soon.
