The Boys Season 5 is a Supernatural family reunion: “We got work to do.”
The Boys Season 5 just became a bit more “Supernatural.” Here’s why!
In Eric Kripke’s vast, interconnected universe, we find ourselves immersed. Kripke has announced that Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins will join the cast of The Boys for its fifth season. This news follows the inclusion of Jensen Ackles in the series, as well. And let’s not forget about Jim Beaver and Jeffrey Dean Morgan!
The Boys Season 5 features Supernatural actors
For Supernatural enthusiasts, it appears there might be a kind of family gathering in The Boys Season 5. On Feb. 26, Kripke and the official X account for The Boys confirmed that Padalecki, Collins, and Ackles will join this universe. In addition, the announcement showed all three actors conversing with each other before disclosing that they have tasks in the Amazon Prime series.
Hi there, Jared. It seems we’ve got some tasks ahead, a phrase reminiscent of the camaraderie shared by the characters in Supernatural, echoing a memorable line from both the pilot episode and the finale of season 1, as well as the premiere of season 15!
For an added touch, Padalecki and Ackles portrayed lead characters Sam and Dean on the series Supernatural over a span of 15 seasons. Characters like Crowley often referred to them as “the boys” within the context of the show.

After the video moved forward, it displayed Padalecki reaching out to Collins not long after that point. In Supernatural, Collins took on the role of Castiel – an angel who first appeared during the fourth season.

The video progressed, revealing a call between Padalecki and Collins soon afterward. In Supernatural, it was Collins who portrayed Castiel – the angel character who joined the series in its fourth season.
In an interesting nod to the show “Supernatural,” Jensen Ackles (Padalecki’s character) had a symbol from the series drawn inside one of his vehicles! This symbol appeared to be the Devil’s Trap, a significant emblem in the series. Similarly, Sam and Dean from “Supernatural” drove around in a 1967 Chevy Impala.
In an intriguing twist, actor Jim Beaver portrayed both Bobby Singer in Supernatural and Robert Singer in The Boys. On Supernatural, Bobby was a significant figure who often looked after Sam and Dean when their father, John, wasn’t present.
Jim Beaver has an interesting double role – he played Bobby Singer in Supernatural and Robert Singer in The Boys. In the former series, Bobby was a key character who frequently stood in for Sam and Dean’s father, John, when he wasn’t around.
Previously, Robert Singer held positions as both the United States’ Defense Secretary and President. In a different context, John was portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan on Supernatural. Later, the same actor took on the role of Joe Kessler in The Boys.
The Boys Season 5 release date
In terms of future plot developments for The Boys Season 5, it remains uncertain whether we’ll see a group similar to Supernatural’s “Team Free Will” or the Winchester family reunite. However, eager fans of The Boys should mark their calendars for a 2026 release date.
