Story Highlights
- MOONTON Games and Central Java Police shut down Senpai Mod and NUI Mod cheat network.
- Thousands of MLBB accounts were penalised for using unfair tools like map hacks and more.
- Investigation found the cheat network had spread across SEA, though the operators agreed to shut everything down permanently.
MOONTON Games, the creator of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, has worked with the Central Java Regional Police and the law firm SKC Law to dismantle a large network distributing cheating software for the popular mobile game. This is a major victory in the fight against cheating in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
MOONTON cracks down on widespread cheating in ranked matches
You might be asking how this situation unfolded. It started with reports from the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) community, who noticed unusual activity, particularly in ranked games. Since September 2023, the game developers have been investigating and working with authorities to address the issue, focusing on those running the “Senpai Mod” and “NUI Mod”.
Our investigation revealed that Senpai Mod wasn’t just spreading cheat tools, but also profiting by reselling them. Fortunately, MOONTON Games has already taken action, banning thousands of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang accounts over the past few years for using cheats related to Senpai Mod, including map hacks and enhanced vision.
Legal action from MOONTON Games and law forces MLBB cheats operators to shutdown permanently
But their efforts didn’t end there. They also worked with the Central Java Regional Police’s Cyber Crimes unit, who helped identify and shut down the people responsible. After legal action was taken, the people running both Senpai Mod and NUI Mod have officially agreed to:
- Stop all development, sale, and distribution of their cheat software.
- And also close all related websites and social media channels permanently.
It was surprising to discover that while these cheating programs primarily targeted players in Indonesia, they quickly spread throughout Southeast Asia, and data shows they were used globally. I want to commend MOONTON Games for their dedication to a fair and secure gaming environment, especially their collaboration with anti-cheat technology and legal authorities.
