Doctor Who confirms return date and announces hugely exciting guest star
The beloved character Doctor Who has now confirmed its comeback date, accompanied by the thrilling revelation of a notable guest performer.
The science fiction series is set to resume for its 15th season on April 12. In Britain, it will debut at 8am on BBC iPlayer and air later that day on BBC One. For viewers outside of the UK, the episodes will be accessible on Disney+.
In the second episode of the new season, it has been verified that acclaimed Emmy-winning actor and host of “The Traitors US,” Alan Cumming, will make an appearance as a character called Mr. Ring-a-Ding.
In my gaming world, I’ve got this jovial, chuckle-inducing character named Mr. Ring-a-Ding residing in the vibrant town of Sunnyville along with his pal, Sunshine Sally. This guy’s always singing and spreading cheer!
Yet, in the year 1952, following countless cinema re-runs nationwide, Mr. Ring-a-Ding surprisingly gazes past the movie screen and perceives the actual world outside, a realization that leads to a truly petrifying aftermath.
Regarding Alan Cumming’s casting, “Doctor Who” showrunner Russell T Davies remarked: “Alan Cumming brings a witty, mischievous, threatening, and entertaining edge to our runaway cartoon. He elevates the universe of ‘Doctor Who’ to uncharted levels of wildness and madness. It’s truly an honor to have him join us on the TARDIS.
In the upcoming season, Ncuti Gatwa’s character, the Fifteenth Doctor, and his companion, Ruby Sunday (played by Millie Gibson), will reappear. Meanwhile, Varada Sethu is set to join the cast for the first time as a new character named Belinda Chandra.
For the upcoming season 15, we have additional stars like Rose Ayling-Ellis, Anita Dobson, Christopher Chung, Michelle Greenidge, Jonah Hauer-King, Ruth Madeley, Jemma Redgrave, and Susan Twist joining our cast.
As a die-hard Whovian, I was thrilled when the latest update about the return date of Doctor Who came just after the BBC debunked rumors suggesting its potential cancellation. They clarified that the speculations were off the mark, bringing a sigh of relief to fans like myself.
