Three popular games – Lord of Heroes, HEAVENHELLS: Anime Squad RPG, and Ayakashi Rise: AFK Demon Hunt – will be shutting down. Their developer, Clover Games, filed for bankruptcy on April 9, 2026, leading to the end of support for all three titles.
Shutdown process begins May 9, 2026, with possible earlier server closure
According to CEO Yun Seong-kuk, the studio has been unable to continue operating despite trying various solutions. As a result, the company is closing down, and its three games will stop being supported starting May 9, 2026. However, the game servers may be shut down sooner, depending on their hosting providers.
Lord of Heroes, the studio’s first game, launched in 2020. It’s a story-driven, turn-based strategy RPG where players can fully develop every hero, regardless of how rare they are, and enjoy extensive character progression.
HEAVENHELLS: Anime Squad RPG recently became available worldwide after first launching in South Korea. It’s the most expansive of the three games, featuring fast-paced, real-time battles and an anime-inspired story where you lead a squad against a demonic threat.
I’ve been checking out some new mobile games lately, and one that caught my eye was Ayakashi Rise: AFK Demon Hunt. It’s a pretty chill RPG where you mostly just let it run, and it’s set in a cool, spooky version of Tokyo. Honestly, all three of the games I’ve tried have gotten really good reviews, and I think they all have a lot going for them.
As a long-time fan, it’s heartbreaking to hear the news. Apparently, the CEO and the whole team really tried to save things, working hard to cut costs and even using the CEO’s own money to keep the games going. Sadly, they just ran out of funds, and the losses became too much to overcome, so they had to shut down. It’s a tough break for everyone involved.
Because Clover Games is going through bankruptcy, they can’t process refunds themselves. If you bought something through the game, please request a refund directly from the platform you used, like the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
