Currently, Millie has expressed her eagerness yet again about portraying Britney in an upcoming biographical movie, as she shared during her recent conversation with Access Hollywood.

During our conversation on Monday, the actress expressed her admiration by saying, ‘She truly is an icon,’ and added, ‘I can’t think of anything I desire more than to contribute to her narrative. However, it’s her journey, and I wholeheartedly support her telling her story in her own unique way.’

She mentioned, “I’d like someone to present it in a stunning manner, and I’m always receptive to such ideas.

Previously, Millie had shown enthusiasm about portraying Britney in a biographical film as far back as 2022. On The Drew Barrymore Show, she disclosed that playing this role was one of her aspirations following the completion of Stranger Things.

Millie expressed her desire to play a role based on a genuine individual. She specifically mentioned her aspiration to embody the legendary pop star, Britney Spears. She felt a strong connection to Britney’s story, stating: ‘I find her journey, in particular, relatable to me.’

She mentioned that they both had the commonality of growing up under public scrutiny, and Millie hinted at recognizing comparable emotions whenever she revisited old interviews featuring the Toxic artist.

Following an intense auction process the previous year, Universal Studios emerged victorious in securing the privilege to create a biographical movie about Britney Spears. Subsequently, Jon M. Chu, renowned for his work on Wicked, has been appointed as the director, set to take up the task post the release of the much-anticipated second part of that film.

However, sources close to The Sun have shared that Britney, who plays a significant role in shaping the film’s plot, has found it difficult to decide on the movie’s direction recently.

The hitmaker seems to be shifting her ideas frequently, much like the wind, as she works on designing a storyline for the biographical film.

According to an inside source, the biographical film is currently undergoing preliminary planning, far from the start of production, and numerous concepts are being proposed for potential directions the movie might follow.

However, even when it seems like Britney is headed in a particular direction, she often changes course instead, according to the source.

As one who closely follows Britney’s career, I can confirm that Cade Hudson, her current manager, is serving as an executive producer on her biopic. In this role, he has been actively attempting to bridge the gap between the creative team and Britney, sharing ideas and insights with her. However, it seems that the project is currently in a state of flux, with no definitive direction established yet.

Last month, at the Golden Globe Awards, Chu gave an update on the making of the biopic.

He shared with Billboard that he’s had a long-standing admiration for Britney. In fact, his fandom dates back to when both were quite young, and she was among the twelve performers who appeared at the Shrine Auditorium.

‘So I want to do her justice and tell her story right.’

However, he cautioned that telling a sensitive story meant the biopic couldn’t be rushed out.

‘We’re developing it now and it’s a long road ahead,’ Chu said.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the director of “Crazy Rich Asians” made it clear that he was committed to keeping Spears informed about the movie based on her life.

He mentioned that she’ll play a significant role since she’s quite engaged. At this stage, I haven’t completed much work thoroughly, but her involvement is assured in what we’re doing, he explained. However, I have some concepts and strategies brewing, but it’s still early days.
