Teddi Mellencamp Shares Heartwarming Post After Brain Tumor Surgery

Teddi Mellencamp shared her initial social media update following her brain surgery, which was performed earlier this month to remove two tumors.

In the midst of her struggle against cancer, the reality TV star, aged 43, celebrated her daughter Dove’s birthday by posting a heartfelt message on Instagram on Tuesday.

She wished a happy birthday to her little miracle, Dove – their youngest child with Edwin Arroyave – by penning this sentiment in her caption, which accompanied a collection of pictures.

It’s astonishing how quickly five years have passed since you entered our lives and brought about such a positive change. No matter how much you grow, you will forever remain My Little Dovey to me.

Approximately two weeks have passed since her previous post, and now she is preparing for a surgery that her doctors recently found multiple brain tumors during an examination.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum wrote over the collage: ‘Happy birthday my baby.’

The collage showcased heartwarming selfies taken by the mother-daughter pair throughout the years, along with several charming images of Dove displaying her fashion choices.

Beyond simply being fans of Dove, Mellencamp and Arroyave, I am proud to be part of their family circle as well. Their wonderful kids, Slate, who’s 12, and Cruz, aged 10, are a delight to behold!

She is also stepmother to Arroyave’s daughter Bella, 15, from a previous relationship.

Mellencamp frequently calls Dove their “miracle child” as they were able to conceive her naturally following difficulties in becoming pregnant with Slate and Cruz, after experiencing infertility issues.

In 2011, she tied the knot with the head of security, and they revealed their split in November 2024, marking 13 years since their wedding day.

Over time, Mellencamp has shared details about Dove’s condition and disclosed that she was diagnosed with lambdoid craniosynostosis, requiring neurosurgery.

As reported by the Mayo Clinic, Lambdaoid Craniosynostosis refers to a relatively uncommon occurrence where the development of the skull following birth deviates from normal.

Around a year ago, Mellencamp gave an update about their youngest child’s health and demonstrated that she’s quite a determined spirit.

In a July 2024 Instagram post, she expressed: ‘She’s quite the leader. She’s tough yet tender, hilarious, and intelligent. Our home is managed by our boss baby Dove, and I wouldn’t want it any differently. We adore you, Dovey Doo.’

During her ongoing fight with cancer, Mellencamp is currently facing a lawsuit alleging racial discrimination from a previous household employee.

This past month, I learned about John Mellencamp enduring intense pain following a challenging operation to remove several brain tumors from his body. As a lifestyle expert, I can only imagine the resilience it takes to face such a health challenge.

He posted a concerning update a day following the operation, yet reassured his followers that the surgery progressed smoothly and now he is at last taking some well-deserved rest.

As a lifestyle advisor, I find myself compelled to share an instance from my personal sphere. Despite going through a challenging separation, I found myself at the bedside of a beloved figure from reality television, who was undergoing emergency surgery due to her longstanding fight against skin cancer.

In a social media update earlier this month, he simply noted that the operation had been successful.
