Kate Hudson Reveals the Hardest Part of Breakups and Her Therapist’s Shocking Advice!

Kate Hudson admits that the sensation of experiencing failure is the toughest aspect when ending a relationship, as she candidly discussed her past romantic experiences.

On Elizabeth Day’s “How To Fail” podcast, the 45-year-old American actress openly discussed her struggles with ending relationships and revealed that her therapist advised her to stop dating men due to difficulties she encountered in these relationships.

In my expertise, I must say that ending relationships isn’t easy; it often brings about a sense of failure, a feeling I can wholeheartedly attest to. It’s a challenging step, one that requires courage and self-reflection.

For me, what proved to be the most challenging aspect was relinquishing the belief that it signified failure, or that I wasn’t able to bring about success, or mend what was broken.

Occasionally, it seems as if you’re attempting to force a square block into a circular space, which simply won’t work out.

She went on to say, “After some time, you understand that it wasn’t a mistake, but rather, exactly the right sequence of events.

Oh my goodness, when I find myself pondering over past encounters and thinking, “Oh no, what did I miss? Why wasn’t I able to help them more? What was it that they needed from me?” It’s a clear sign that some deep introspection is required. I need to dig deep and truly understand where I fell short so I can improve myself moving forward.

Kate has a 21-year-old son named Ryder with her former spouse Chris Robinson, whom she was wedded to between 2000 and 2006. Their divorce was concluded in 2007.

Afterward, she gave birth to her second child, Bingham (who is now 13 years old), with her former partner Matt Bellamy. She also has a daughter named Rani Rose (age 6) with her present fiancee, Danny Fujikawa.

By the time she met Danny, she had confessed that she no longer cared who was sending her messages, as her therapist had suggested she abstain from dating men for a year beforehand.

Having spent a year avoiding male suitors, as per her therapist’s advice, she eventually admitted to not caring about the identity of those texting her when she encountered Danny.

For approximately a year, Kate chose to exclude men from her life, stating that she “eliminated males from the situation and needed to navigate the challenging experience of feeling disquieting due to lacking any interaction capable of triggering my dopamine release, associated with flirting.

During her single years, she acknowledged: ‘It felt like I struck upon something significant, I touched upon a personal problem of mine. It was almost like a childhood sob and it felt as if a burden had been removed from me. Truly, after that moment, I didn’t care anymore about who was reaching out to me.’

As a devoted follower, I discovered an immense sense of joy in solitude. Every day, I found myself deeply aligned with my purpose, cherishing the moments with my children, and relishing the comfort of my personal space.

Instead of giving it much thought regarding what to wear, my return to the dating scene significantly altered how I approach dating.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but reflect upon the extraordinary bond I share with the father of Muse’s second child. Truly, we have forged an unbreakable connection. He holds a special place in my heart, along with his wife, their family, and our children who have grown incredibly close.

She went on to explain that they found a way to have a completely new kind of relationship, one not centered around their romantic involvement.

‘Our compatibility wasn’t there, and despite our best efforts, we found ourselves unable to continue the relationship. Instead of pointing fingers or causing conflict, we simply acknowledged that we didn’t wish to persist on this particular journey anymore.’

She clarified that neither she nor Matt were at fault for their breakup, and this experience prompted her to focus on personal growth and learning to cope with being by herself.

Since 2016, Kate and Danny have been a couple. They became parents to their daughter Rani in the year 2018. Two years after that, they got engaged in 2021.

Expressing that he was her stepbrother’s closest friend, she stated, “I was content on my own, not realizing that the perfect match had been standing by my side for an astonishing fourteen years.

‘I knew Danny for so long and I think the thing about Danny is our value system is very similar.

‘The atmosphere here is comfortingly warm, and with a backing like this, his love for family is unshakeable. It’s as stable as a rock, making even the toughest moments in life seem less daunting.’
