Spencer Pratt hits back at The Hills co-star Lauren Conrad’s dismissive reaction to his LA mayoral run

Spencer Pratt responded angrily to Lauren Conrad after she seemingly disapproved of his campaign for mayor of Los Angeles during an appearance on Wednesday’s Today show.

The reality TV personality, age 42, gained notoriety as the antagonist on MTV’s The Hills in the late 2000s. He was upset when asked on the show if he’d receive a vote for mayor from Heidi Montag, who responded by saying she doesn’t reside in Los Angeles.

Pratt posted on X, suggesting that if Lauren Conrad lived in Los Angeles and her children faced the dangers of walking to school through areas with drug users and human waste, she would likely support him. He ended the post with, ‘Just putting that out there.’

Rick Caruso announced his campaign for Los Angeles mayor on January 7th, a year after a wildfire destroyed his home in the Palisades area.

He’s been campaigning by criticizing Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and the city’s handling of the fire, arguing that poor management of fire safety contributed to the problem.

Conrad isn’t alone in distancing himself from Pratt; Pratt’s own sister, Stephanie, publicly criticized him online, calling a vote for him a ‘vote for stupidity.’ However, Conrad’s reaction seems to have particularly upset someone.

The story began when Conrad, age 40, met up with her former Laguna Beach castmates Kristin Cavallari, 39, and Stephen Colletti, 40, on the Today show, hosted by Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones.

The discussion quickly shifted to Rick Caruso, and all three people were asked whether they planned to vote for the well-known television personality in the Los Angeles mayoral election on June 2nd.

Conrad clarified that he didn’t live in Los Angeles, and Colletti added they were located in Orange County.

Co-host Bush prodded some more, asking Conrad point-blank, ‘Have y’all healed any past beef?’

The question seemed to upset Conrad, who responded by saying he hadn’t talked to those people in years.

During the interview, Cavallari also mentioned she doesn’t live in Los Angeles. She then followed up with kind words about Pratt, who is currently second in the polls behind Bass, according to Us Weekly.

Kristin Cavallari believes Spencer has a good idea and she’s curious to see how things unfold. She also expressed continued fondness and admiration for him.

Conrad and Pratt famously argued on the reality show The Hills, which started as a spin-off of Laguna Beach.

The conflict began when Heidi Montag and her then-boyfriend, Spencer Pratt, were accused of spreading a rumor that Lauren Conrad and her ex, Jason Wahler, had filmed a sex tape.

Conrad dismissed the rumors about a sex tape, describing them as untrue and disturbing. She claimed that Pratt and Montag were behind the story, intending to harm her image.

‘You know what you did,’ Conrad told Montag in the season three premiere of The Hills.

The girls were best friends, but their relationship fell apart because Conrad really disliked Montag’s boyfriend, Pratt, and openly called him unpleasant. This conflict became a major plot point on their reality TV show.

Conrad decided to leave ‘The Hills’ midway through its fifth season to pursue her passion for fashion. She later shared on Whitney Port’s podcast, ‘With Whit,’ that she needed time to heal emotionally after being on the show.

From 2019 to 2021, Pratt and Montag rejoined the cast for the revival of The Hills, but Conrad chose not to participate.

Earlier this year, while at the They Let Us Burn! protest in the Palisades, Pratt announced his intention to run for mayor.

He described the Los Angeles system not as simply failing, but as completely broken. He explained it’s structured to prioritize the wealthy and connected, leaving everyone else to suffer the consequences, like breathing in dangerous smoke and ash.

Continuing with the same old approaches will ultimately fail Los Angeles, and I’ve reached the point where I can’t wait any longer for someone else to step up and make meaningful changes.

I’m running for mayor because I believe we need real change. This isn’t just about winning an election; it’s about fixing a broken system and bringing everything to light.

They allowed the situation to escalate and caused harm before, during, and after the event, without taking any responsibility. It was a clear case of carelessness, and they could have prevented it.

Pratt, who shares two children with Montag, explained that the situation wasn’t caused by an unavoidable accident. She emphasized that someone was at fault and they should be held responsible.
