Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen Slams Stacey Solomon’s Show as ‘Folding Underpants, Not Design!’
Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen made a strong criticism against Stacey Solomon’s home improvement show, Sort Your Life Out.
In a recent conversation with Closer, the 59-year-old interior designer, who is known for his Channel 4 series Outrageous Homes that’s coming back for another season, criticized Stacey’s BBC program.
Laurence became well-known for his vibrant performances on the BBC’s home renovation series, Changing Rooms, that originally ran from 1996 to 2004, and was later brought back in 2021.
In a TV show at the age of 35, Stacey assists in making over homes by guiding individuals on decluttering their spaces and developing innovative storage systems.
Lawrence straight-out stated he doesn’t watch her program when asked, adding: “Isn’t that more about laundry than art, like ironing people’s socks or pants?
Instead of critically targeting Stacey’s popular TV series and DIY home tips, Laurence countered with a bold statement: “If you were to confine me in Stacey Solomon’s cottage, I would demonstrate to her what authentic interior design truly entails.

‘Perhaps I am the one who might whisk Stacey Solomon away from sorting underwear and giving everything a gray hue!’ (This maintains the playful tone and the basic meaning of the original sentence.)
Following Lawrence sharing ‘the most harrowing’ experience during his time on Celebrity Bear Hunt, it turned out that incident was not when he nearly drowned and faced death.
During their conversation on This Morning with Ben Shepherd and Cat Deeley, Laurence admitted: ‘It struck me that I was the only one present with personal belongings of my own!’
A shocked Ben asked: ‘So you smuggled in contraband?’
‘Well I wore in contraband and no one said no,’ Laurence replied.
He continued: ‘Eventually they did, they did twig and I found myself having to wear high street.
That was an incredibly distressing experience. Oh my goodness, wearing those chain store clothes was so uncomfortable – they were terribly itchy!
Laurence’s admission leaves us taken aback, given the intense events portrayed during the series.

The furniture designer has shared a story about how Bear Grylls rescued him during an emergency situation on the set of the show.
In conversation with TopMob, Lawrence shared that Bear was the one who stepped in to save him during the harrowing event.
‘It turns out, I’m actually not built to be an Avenger,’ he quipped.
Initially, I had high hopes that I could handle it. I was brimming with enthusiasm and confidence in my skills, but unfortunately, my capabilities turned out to be less than what I believed they were.
Initially, I found myself trapped beneath the raft. However, in retrospect, I acted foolishly, choosing not to halt my actions at that moment. Instead, I persisted and eventually began to lose consciousness, experiencing severe chest pain.
The following moment, Bear was on top of me – something many would envy. Yet, he seemed as heavy and unwelcoming as a wet sack full of tools!
