MAFS Drama: Awhina’s Shocking Revelation About Adrian’s Friend After Pub Brawl!
On the recent episode, Awhina Rutene revealed that her groom’s best friend contacted her following their heated pub disagreement during the family gatherings on Monday.
In a turn of events, Jasmin Weston, once close friend of Married at First Sight participant Adrian Araouzou, issued an apology directed towards the bride and her sister Cleo.
About a week back, she got in touch with us. She sent us a heartfelt message along with taking responsibility for something. This is what Awhina shared with Nine on the 9th of this month.
She expressed one point: I’m glad she contacted me, and I accept her apology. However, I wish it had come earlier, she mentioned as an addition.
Food influencer Jasmin had a heated argument with Awhina and her twin sister Cleo, which took place during their friends-and-family visit that was broadcast on Monday evening.
Prior to his participation on MAFS, Adrian and Jasmin had a strong friendship, often collaborating on their jointly managed TikTok account, Sweet Sundayz, which no longer exists.
In the argument between Awhina, Cleo, and Adrian, she chose to support Adrian. As tensions rose, she left with Adrian and his two siblings after the disagreement escalated intensely.
Before the intense moments unfolded on-screen, Jasmin posted an apology on her Instagram Story on Sunday evening, aimed at Awhina and Cleo, as part of an attempt to rectify any issues that might have arisen.
For a few coming evenings, it’s my role (unfortunately) to stand up for Adrian on Married at First Sight, as Jasmine explained.
In that encounter, I acknowledge and accept the accountability for both my behaviors and words. They were certainly subpar, falling short of who I strive to be. Since then, I’ve extended my apologies to Awhina and Cleo for the discomfort or offense they may have experienced.
Jasmine disclosed that Adrian was no longer a part of her existence, and acknowledged that Adrian’s actions during the program mirrored past experiences of hers.
In my perspective as a lifestyle advisor, let me share an observation: It’s been some time since Adrian and I were on friendly terms. Seeing Adrian in a disagreement with Awhina feels strangely familiar, as if I’ve lived this scene before.
Six months ago, when these scenes were captured, I remained deeply loyal to Adrian, unaware of the true nature of things as he presented them. What I knew was merely a distorted reflection of reality, not Awhina’s perspective.
Jasmine stated that she was simply defending her then-friend from a verbal attack.
Jasmine stated, “I tend to respond quickly when it comes to defending my friends, and that’s exactly what you’ll observe in any given circumstance.
From my current perspective, it’s now clear to me how and why Awhina developed those feelings towards Adrian.
Moving on, Jasmine denounced the manipulative strategies used by her ex-friend, asserting that these same strategies had contributed to the demise of Sweet Sundayz as well.
She stated, “I’m not making any excuses, but I feel it’s important for me to express my honest thoughts before the episode gets published.
I truly wish I could empathize more deeply with Awhina. If only I didn’t view things through such rosy lenses, it would be easier for me. I must say, I’m genuinely relieved that Adrian is no longer part of my story.
once more, I apologize for my words, Awhina, and let you know that I stand by your side throughout this entire journey.
However, it seems not all MAFS fans were ready to accept Jasmine’s apology.
‘She forgot to say ‘I wish I wasn’t an a***hole from the second I sat down,’ one fan wrote.
Another chimed in questioning the timing of the apology.
‘Because it will ruin her brand,’ they wrote. ‘She could have posted it ages ago.’
It was suggested that the post was an attempt at “cleaning up” or “managing damage,” since Jasmine had just published a cookbook titled “Everyday Eats.
‘This pelican/disgusting human has a cookbook and is now on damage control.’
The friends and family visit turned into an all-out disaster on Monday night’s episode of MAFS.
In every season of MAFS, gatherings are arranged for families and close friends to evaluate the health of relationships and share insights or address issues that may arise.
This meeting quickly descended into shouting and recriminations.
In a direct confrontation, Cleo challenged Adrian over how he’d been treating her sister, resulting in an explosive argument that pushed both of them, along with their respective families, to the brink of a breakdown.
‘She’s been telling me some pretty unsettling things about her husband Adrian,’ Cleo shared.
She confides in me that he often belittles her to boost his own image, and she expresses that she often feels unacknowledged or overlooked. In other words, she feels like she is not being noticed or recognized.
Adrian, clearly feeling strong emotions, asserted that he’d been putting forth an effort. However, Awhina countered by saying he hadn’t given much attention to her being there.
She expressed, “It would mean a lot if you could simply recognize my presence,” she indicated, clearly showing her exasperation.
Without reservation, Cleo openly charged Adrian with neglecting to stand by Awhina in the manner expected of a devoted spouse.
She boldly stated that Awhina needs someone compassionate and committed, ready to support her. Unfortunately, Adrian doesn’t fit the bill.
The situation became more intense as Adrian’s sisters and his friend Jasmine stepped in to support him, asserting that Awhina was overemphasizing the negative aspects.
At some stage, Jasmine attempted to find a resolution by hinting that Adrian might have been expressing himself differently. However, Cleo reacted angrily.
‘He has not even shown up! Not once!’ she screamed, leaving the room in stunned silence.
