Christopher Nolan’s epic Dark Knight trilogy gets new UK streaming home
Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy has found a new streaming home in the UK.
You can now stream the trilogy – “Batman Begins”, “The Dark Knight”, and “The Dark Knight Rises” – on Amazon Prime Video UK by subscribing to their service.
Previously, “Batman Begins” could be streamed, but this weekend, the trilogy was finished on the service when “The Dark Knight” and “The Dark Knight Rises” were added to Prime Video’s collection.
2005’s “Batman Begins,” featuring Christian Bale as the Dark Knight, narrates the account of Batman’s genesis, starting from his early years, continuing through his education in Asia, and culminating in his return to Gotham City.
2008’s “The Dark Knight” features Christian Bale once again playing Bruce Wayne, who joins forces with Lieutenant Jim Gordon (played by Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) in their fight against criminal organizations. However, their mission is disrupted by the unforgettable performance of Heath Ledger as the menacing Joker.
The final film in the trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, sees Batman take on a merciless terrorist named Bane, played by Tom Hardy.
In a discussion marking ten years since Heath Ledger’s passing, director Nolan characterized Ledger’s performance in The Joker role as both unforeseeable and exceptional.
In a conversation on BBC Radio 1, he expressed deep satisfaction for being connected, even slightly, to such a remarkable showcase of talent, this lasting achievement. He acknowledged that the individual was both exceptional and an exceptionally gifted actor.
Recognizing him in such a manner felt significant not just for me, but for his family too. It’s a milestone in film history, I believe, to have his contributions so clearly marked.” (as a gamer)
Regarding the creation of Joker’s voice by Ledger, Nolan stated: “His delivery was erratic, producing this unusual tone. Many have attempted to mimic it since; you could never tell whether he would rise or fall in pitch, you were always unsure of what that character might do next, and that unpredictability was what made him chilling.
The Dark Knight trilogy is available to stream now in the UK on Amazon Prime Video.
