Selena Gomez Reveals Shocking Truth Behind Her Dramatic Weight Loss at SAG Awards!

At the SAG Awards on Sunday, Selena Gomez turned heads with her stunning Celine dress that beautifully accentuated her more svelte silhouette.

It was pointed out by social media users that actress Emilia Perez appeared significantly thinner, leading some to speculate that she might be utilizing ‘Ozempic’ or another weight-loss supplement.

Yet, the actress openly admits that her weight changes are due to her struggle with Lupus and a condition known as Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), which she also battles with medication.

Following the examination of a TikTok video, which has since been removed in November 2024, Selena expressed her discomfort by stating: “This is nauseating. I struggle with SEBO in my small intestine, and it can cause flare-ups.

I’m fine with not being a stick figure, as it’s not my physique. That’s just the way I am, and I refuse to be labeled as a victim. I’m simply human.

Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) occurs when the movement of food and waste through the digestive system becomes slower, leading to an environment that fosters bacterial growth, as explained by the Mayo Clinic.

Typically, the problem stems from either surgery or illness, according to the clinic. Symptoms often include feelings of fullness (bloating), abdominal discomfort, and poor nutrition.

Previously, Selena shared that she once shed numerous tears due to body shaming remarks, but currently, she takes pride in her identity.

She posted on Instagram, “I may not be flawless, yet I take pride in being myself, and at times, I need reminders that it’s alright to just be me.

In 2023, she also revealed that her lupus medication causes her weight to fluctuate.

At that point, the former Disney Channel star shared that she often retains a significant amount of fluid because of various medications she uses, and she urged her followers to embrace self-love, especially during times when they may feel embarrassed or ashamed.

The Wizards of Waverly Place alum also stressed the importance of her health over appearances.

She mentioned, “Indeed, there are times when I don’t feel great, but I’d far prefer to prioritize my health and well-being.”

She explained, “On some days, I might not feel so good, but what I truly value is maintaining a state of good health and self-care.

Responding to those who criticize, she advised them to leave because, truthfully, she doesn’t endorse judging others based on their physical appearance or any other aspect.

‘So, yeah, not a model,’ she said, adding, ‘Never will be.’

She added: ‘And I think they’re awesome – mind you – I just, I’m definitely not that.’

Following her performance at the Golden Globes, Dr. Dennis Schimpf, a recognized plastic surgeon, shared with DailyMail.com his observation that Selena Gomez appears to be slim. However, he noted that she doesn’t seem unhealthily skinny or gaunt, which are usually indicators of weight loss concerns.

It might be challenging to confirm, as I find it unlikely that she undertook this action solely due to her existing health issues and the fact that she wasn’t particularly overweight to begin with.

1) From what I’ve gathered, she seems to have shifted towards a healthier way of living, incorporating regular exercise and improved eating habits. It’s usually not just about one specific change, like undergoing GLP treatment, but rather a blend of lifestyle adjustments and dietary modifications.

The Lose You To Love Me singer announced she had undergone kidney transplant in September 2017.

As a devoted companion, I was honored to stand by my friend, Selena Gomez, when she faced the challenges of her lupus diagnosis. At only 24 years old, she experienced kidney damage. However, my friend Francia Raisa selflessly made the decision to donate one of her kidneys to help save Selena’s life.
