Kylie Jenner Absent at SAG Awards: Timothee Chalamet’s Mom Steps in Amid Grief
On Saturday evening in Los Angeles, Timothée Chalamet’s distraught partner Kylie Jenner chose not to attend the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
On that very same day, it was announced tragically that Kylie’s close associate and hairstylist, Jesus Guerrero, passed away prematurely at the young age of 34.
Earlier, Kylie was attending high-profile functions alongside Timothee for the celebrated Bob Dylan biopic titled A Complete Unknown.
Timothee often walked the red carpet alone before being accompanied by Kylie once they entered the event, as seen at both the Golden Globes and Berlinale.
Instead, on that particular Saturday, following the premature demise of Jesus, Kylie decided to forgo attending the SAG Awards. In her place, Timothée’s mother, Nicole Flender, accompanied him as his date.
As a former Broadway dancer-turned real estate agent, I, Nicole, found myself seated beside Timothee at the Shrine Auditorium following his lone appearance on the red carpet.
At the event, Timothee found himself sitting next to his mom, a past Broadway dancer who currently operates as a real estate agent in New York City.
Kylie’s absence from the ceremony comes the day it emerged Jesus had died at 34.
She tragically shared that her brother passed away all too abruptly and without warning, yet chose not to reveal the specific reason for his demise in public.
At the SAG Awards, Timothee Chalamet presented the film “A Complete Unknown” together with his fellow cast members, Monica Barbaro, Elle Fanning, and Edward Norton.
During the prepared part, Timothee accidentally messed up his lines, which led him to humorously remark, “I should have practiced more.
That night, Monica was additionally recognized with a nomination for Best Supporting Actress, thanks to her portrayal of the trailblazing singer-songwriter, Joan Baez.
Additionally, Edward Norton received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor due to his portrayal of the communist folk figure Pete Seeger. Similarly, the entire cast earned a nomination for an ensemble award.

2021’s SAG Awards nominations are heavily favoring “Wicked: Part One,” with a total of five recognitions. These include acknowledgments for the performances of Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.
At the SAG Awards, the ensemble is jointly recognized with a prestigious nomination, commonly considered the pinnacle of the evening – exceptional teamwork in a film.
In a challenging group, Wicked is up for contention alongside the Timothee Chalamet-starring Bob Dylan biopic titled A Complete Unknown, as well as other notable entries.
In another contention for the same award, we find the Catholic drama “Conclave,” directed by Ralph Fiennes, along with the highly favored “Anora” featuring Mikey Madison and Yura Borisov in the awards season.
Completing the top-notch cast for the Best Ensemble in a Motion Picture category is the Spanish-language musical “Emilia Perez,” starring Selena Gomez, Zoe Saldana, and the much-debated leading actress Karla Sofia Gascon.
On this coming Saturday, the ceremony, organized by SAG-AFTRA, stands out as the unique awards event within the Hollywood season that exclusively acknowledges and honors actors.
As a lifestyle expert, I had the privilege of witnessing the exciting culmination of a vote cast by more than 130,000 union members. Over the span of a captivating two-hour ceremony on Saturday, we celebrated and awarded 13 outstanding prizes that truly epitomize excellence in their respective fields.
Notable celebrities such as Pamela Anderson (for The Last Showgirl), Demi Moore (for The Substance), and Zoe Saldana (for Emilia Perez) have earned nominations in various categories.

Selena Gomez has earned recognition in two categories: one for her role within the ensemble cast of Emilia Perez, and another for being part of the cast on the comedy series, Only Murders In The Building.
In the running for the prestigious award of “Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series” are shows such as “Only Murders In The Building,” alongside competitors like “The Bear,” “Hacks,” “Abbott Elementary,” and “Shrinking.
In the realm of drama series, determining the best ensemble proves challenging as Shogun, Bridgerton, Slow Horses, and The Day of the Jackal all vie for recognition.
In the meantime, it’s been confirmed that the SAG Life Achievement Award will be given to Jane Fonda, making her the 60th recipient of this prestigious honor.
SAG-AFTRA president Fran Drescher, famously recognized for her role in the ’90s sitcom “The Nanny”, commended Jane as a groundbreaking figure and an exceptionally gifted individual.
She praised Jane as an energetic influencer who has dramatically reshaped the realms of entertainment, activism, and cultural development with undying enthusiasm.
This year, unfortunately, the formal SAG Awards nomination event was called off due to the destructive wildfires in Los Angeles.
As your go-to lifestyle guide, I’m thrilled to share that this year at the SAG Awards, I find myself in an exciting predicament! Not only am I honored to host the event, but I’m also nominated for the prestigious Best Actress award in a Comedy Series category.
My competition is formidable, with acting powerhouses like Jean Smart for Hacks, Ayo Edebiri and Liza Colon-Zayas for The Bear, and Quinta Brunson for Abbott Elementary all vying for the same accolade. It’s an incredible lineup, and I can’t wait to see who takes home the prize!
