BBC Delays Wynne Evans Talks Due to Mental Health Concerns as He Prepares for Tribunal
In my personal experience, I’ve recently found myself navigating some unforeseen challenges concerning my psychological well-being, which has temporarily halted my ongoing conversations with the esteemed BBC team regarding our future collaborations.
The well-known figure from Go Compare, aged 53, is said to be intending to bring the BBC before a tribunal, due to feelings of betrayal by management after being removed from the Strictly tour.
It is said that he feels his esteem has been undeservedly damaged following his apology for an offensive statement directed towards tour host Janette Manrara, as video evidence of the comment surfaced during the tour’s press conference.
Initially, it was planned to begin conversations via the channel shortly, however, according to The Sun, these talks have allegedly been delayed for several weeks.
According to a source, Wynne had planned to discuss the allegations against him and potential ways to proceed with the BBC last week.
‘Wynne was ready to fight but in recent weeks he has been struggling mentally.

‘The stress of what has happened to his reputation has been weighing heavily on his mind.
The meeting will be rescheduled for a few weeks from now, giving Wynne some extra time to gather his thoughts.
TopMob has contacted representatives for Wynne Evans and the BBC for comment.
This month, it was reported that Wynne, who recently brought on a crisis public relations advisor after being dismissed from the tour, is considering challenging his dismissal, and has been consulting with a group of legal professionals for guidance.
According to reports, the star clarified that his “spit-roast” comment did not involve Janette. Furthermore, it’s alleged that other stars on the tour were privy to this fact.
Additionally, it’s rumored that executives at Go Compare, the insurance company Wynne has represented since 2009, may have convened emergency discussions regarding his role with the company, following the scandal. Furthermore, the singer also took a break from his BBC Wales radio program in response to the controversy.
This month, a source stated that he intends to take his case to a tribunal with the BBC and will put up an aggressive fight using all of his strength. Wynne believes he has been mistreated and is unwilling to back down without putting up a strong resistance.
Last month, The Mail On Sunday shared footage showing Wynne’s controversial “spit-roast” comment. Although tour officials issued him a warning for his behavior, the BBC stated that no complaints were made to them during that period.

Wynne’s friend mentioned that since he was removed from the tour following the release of video showing his controversial joke, he believes his dismissal from the performances was an impulsive response to public backlash about the comment.
As a diligent observer, I reached out to both Wynne Evans’ representatives and the BBC, but they chose not to provide a statement in response to my inquiry, as reported by The Sun.
Reports indicate that Wynne, having engaged legal representation, was mulling over the possibility of filing a lawsuit against the BBC due to a breach of contract and potential financial losses. This decision came about following his dismissal from the Strictly tour.
According to a source familiar with the matter, Wynne had been unwell throughout the entire week, and his brother and business partner took care of him, as reported by The Sun earlier.
‘He’s appointed an expensive law firm to take advice on potentially losing his jobs.’
It appears that Wynne’s partner, Liz Brookes, continues to stand by him following his withdrawal from the live tour. Contrary to earlier speculations suggesting they broke up as a result of the scandal.
As a lifestyle advisor, I can tell you that a 50-year-old professional event organizer has been providing immense support for someone going through an incredibly challenging phase in life.
According to a source, everyone, including Liz, is standing by Wynne. This is an exceptional period, and he greatly values the affection and encouragement he’s receiving from everyone.
Wynne’s companions are reportedly maintaining that his career remains intact, and they assert that the ‘spit-roast’ remark was just a form of immature humor from his school days.
Critics have voiced their disapproval towards BBC’s choice to keep broadcasting the new show “All At Sea,” which is jointly hosted by the popular actor from Gavin & Stacey, Joanna Page.
According to the latest news, it seems his friends are adamant that Wynne can survive this current scandal and rebound in his career.
As reported by The Mirror, a friend is vouching for the celebrity, attributing the criticism he’s faced to Wynne’s supposedly poor sense of humor.
They told the publication: ‘At the end of the day, he has been a bit of an oaf and made a stupid mistake but does he deserve such hatred?
Indeed, employing the phrase “spit-roast” was undeniably inappropriate, and he acknowledges this oversight now. However, his predilection for humor often leads him astray, as he seems perpetually inclined to entertain an audience. It’s merely a display of immature wit, albeit schoolboy humor.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but chime in and say that the rumors about his career coming to an end are indeed premature. Truth be told, his radio show continues to resonate with a vast audience, and he remains highly esteemed among us.
Wynne confirmed his departure from the Strictly live tour in a grovelling statement.
As a die-hard fan, I would eagerly share: “I’ve struck a deal with the BBC to temporarily step back from my radio show, the Strictly Live tour, and various other public engagements to ensure I focus on my wellness.
I’m truly regretful for the hurt my inappropriate behavior has inflicted, and I intend to use this period for introspection and personal growth.
I must express my sincere apologies to those who won’t be able to catch me at the upcoming shows. I’m truly thankful to my tour companions for the incredible support they’ve showered upon me throughout this journey.
Professional dancer Katya Jones, who had been paired with Wynne on Strictly Come Dancing, re-shared the message and commented: “Let’s extend kindness and thoughtfulness to one another.
Besides their reported breakup, Katya additionally stopped following Liz on Instagram. In a story she shared on Instagram, she expressed that she would miss Wynne.
The Strictly series performance of Katya and Wynne was tainted following an incident involving inappropriate touching, as it became necessary for Katya to separate Wynne’s hand from her waist during their dance last October.
The dancer seemed to reject an offer for a high-five from Evans, yet they both claimed that the entire incident was just a “misunderstood joke.
In an informal manner, Wynne proposed an unrefined idea of a threesome involving himself, presenter Janette, a concept he described in a disrespectful way as a “three-way rotation.

In the MoS movie, Wynne finds himself surrounded by 20 celebrities and dancers, including Janette from Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two. As she makes her way over, Wynne playfully cautions her, ‘Keep your distance from Jamie [Borthwick]!’
Later, he subtly makes a flirtatious expression towards the actor, while they are not aware, as Janette passes by. At this moment, Wynne cracks his offensive joke about her, unbeknownst to her.
A short while after, her dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec, who was close by, inquired about her well-being: “Sweetheart, are you alright?” To which she responded briefly: “Yes.
The representative for Janette stated that the host didn’t realize the remark made by Wynne, as it was clearly heard by our reporter who was recording from about twenty yards away using a mobile phone.
