Hollywood’s Biggest Night: The Glitz and Glamour of the 2025 SAG Awards
Stars from Hollywood’s top echelon showcased their dazzle and elegance at the 31st Screen Actors Guild Awards held at Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall, Los Angeles, on a Sunday afternoon.
Sofia Carson made an impressive entrance on the red carpet, donning a beautiful peach dress accentuated by a striking diamond necklace.
Each year, the event, which is overseen by popular actress Kristen Bell, will be broadcast live on Netflix for the second consecutive time, commencing at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) presents this award, making it unique as it’s the only televised event that solely acknowledges acting talent.

On February 23rd, this coming Sunday, the 31st Screen Actors Guild Awards will take place at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall located in Los Angeles.
Over a prolonged event, thirteen honors are being presented to recognize exceptional performances in both film and television. These awards have been chosen by SAG-AFTRA’s vast membership of more than 130,000 individuals.
On their official site, it is stated that the SAG Awards boast the most extensive pool of voters among all award ceremonies.
As a lifestyle expert, I find myself consistently in awe of the star-studded events that grace our screens, and this year’s ceremony is no exception! I’m thrilled to see familiar faces like Pamela Anderson, Demi Moore, Zoe Saldana, and Timothée Chalamet among the A-list nominees.
In contrast to previous years, the official SAG Awards nomination event was not held in 2025 due to the destructive wildfires in Los Angeles that occurred in January, causing its cancellation.
Instead, SAG-AFTRA shared the nominations online.

The hit musical Wicked, adapted from the Tony Award-winning stage show, has earned a total of five nominations for the Screen Actors Guild’s most prestigious movie awards.
Wicked has been nominated for several categories, including Outstanding Actress (for Cynthia Erivo), Outstanding Supporting Actress (Ariana Grande), Outstanding Supporting Actor (Jonathan Bailey), Outstanding Ensemble Cast, and Outstanding Stunt Cast.
Among the other nominees for the SAG award for best ensemble cast are:
1. The Bob Dylan biopic titled “A Complete Unknown”
2. The papal selection drama named “Conclave”
3. The story of a sex worker who marries the son of a Russian oligarch, called “Anora”
4. Emilia Perez, the winner of the Golden Globe in an unspecified category or role
These nominees compete alongside your group for the SAG award for best ensemble cast.
A Complete Unknown star Chalamet is nominated for best actor for his portrayal of the folk legend.
In the supporting actor and actress categories, both Edward Norton (portraying Pete Seeger) and Monica Barbaro (depicting Joan Baez) received recognition from the nominations.
In the nominations, Emilia Pérez has been selected for the category of Best Cast. Controversial lead actress Karla Sofía Gascón in the Spanish film is competing for Best Actress alongside Demi Moore from The Substance and Mikey Anora’s Madison. Meanwhile, Zoe Saldana received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
Selena Gomez wasn’t singled out for recognition, but she’s included as part of the Emilia Perez ensemble category instead.
Gomez’s Hulu show, “Only Murders in the Building,” has been nominated for the “Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series” category.
In the role I played as a devoted fan, I was thrilled to see two distinctive nods: one for the outstanding performance of star Mikey Madison in the best actress category, and another for the exceptional work of supporting actor Yura Borisov.
Actress Demi Moore, who is gaining momentum towards winning an Oscar, has been recognized with a Best Actress nomination for her powerful performance as the lead in the chilling body-horror film titled “The Substance”. This movie has previously honored Moore with both a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice Award.
In Sofia Coppola’s newest movie, ‘The Last Showgirl’, Pamela Anderson was given her inaugural nomination for a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award, as she portrayed an aging Las Vegas entertainer in the film.
In the realm of television nominations, I find myself impressed by Shogun, having earned a remarkable five nominations. Next in line is The Bear, which has garnered four nominations, and lastly, The Diplomat, boasting three nominations.

In the category of Best Ensemble for a Drama Series, both “Shogun” and “The Diplomat” are nominees, along with “Bridgerton”, “Day of the Jackal”, and “Slow Horses”.
In a nod to its comedic prowess, The Bear has been put forward as a contender for the category of “Best Comedy Series Ensemble,” sharing this distinction with Abbott Elementary, Hacks, Only Murders in the Building, and Shrinking.
In the category for Best Male Actor in a Comedy Series, Jeremy Allen White from “The Bear” will compete against Harrison Ford from “Shrinking” and Adam Brody from “Nobody Wants This.
Simultaneously, actors Hiroyuki Sanada and Tadanobu Asano from Shogun were nominated in the “Best Male Actor in a Drama Series” category, alongside Jeff Bridges from The Old Man and Eddie Redmayne from The Day of the Jackal.
In the categories of outstanding performances in TV movies and limited series, HBO’s The Penguin, Netflix’s Baby Reindeer, and Netflix’s Ripley are all vying for the leading acting awards.
In the realm of acting excellence, I find myself eagerly anticipating the best actor and actress awards. As a dedicated follower, I can’t help but notice that Jessica Gunning from Baby Reindeer and Cristin Milioti from The Penguin are strongly tipped to take home the Best Actress award. On the other hand, in the Best Actor category, Colin Farrell from The Penguin seems to be holding a strong position. He’s up against Richard Gadd from Baby Reindeer and Andrew Scott from Ripley, but the competition is stiff!
Actress Kristen Bell, who is hosting tonight’s event, has been nominated herself. She earned a nomination for Best Female Actor in a Comedy Series for her role in “Nobody Wants This,” which streams on Netflix.
She’s up against the likes of Hacks’ Jean Smart and The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri in the category.
At the 2025 awards ceremony, I’m thrilled to see the unsung heroes of the entertainment industry – the stunt crews who’ve brought life to countless TV shows and films – finally getting their much-deserved recognition!
As a seasoned lifestyle enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that some of the most anticipated blockbuster sequels have made it to the nomination list. Among them, the enchanting world of Oz in Wicked, the epic saga of Dune: Part Two, the historical revisiting of Gladiator II, the return of the classic The Fall Guy, and the action-packed combo of Deadpool & Wolverine, all find themselves in the running. It’s an exciting time for movie lovers like us!
Additionally, nominees for awards include performers from shows such as The Penguin, Fallout, Shogun, The Boys, and House of The Dragon who worked behind the scenes.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I find myself thrilled at the prospect of acknowledging the remarkable career of a true icon – none other than Jane Fonda. In the grand tradition of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), she will be bestowed with the Life Achievement Award, making her the 60th esteemed recipient of this prestigious honor.
In a statement, the president of SAG-AFTRA, Fran Drescher, referred to Jane Fonda, a two-time Academy Award winner with a career that extends beyond six decades, as both a pioneer and exceptional performer.
‘Fonda is an influential figure who has significantly impacted the world of entertainment, activism, and cultural trends with great enthusiasm.’ The actress known as ‘The Nanny’ went on to say this.
We pay tribute to Jane, not just for her exceptional artistry, but also for the powerful and enduring impact she’s made through activism and empowerment.
