Coleen Nolan’s Emotional Birthday Tribute to Sister Linda
Speaking from personal experience as a lifestyle enthusiast, I’ve recently taken pen to paper in honor of my dear sister, Linda, on the occasion of her birthday. It’s been a tough month since we lost her to cancer, but today, I want to celebrate her life and the love she brought into ours.
On January 15, 2025, Linda passed away at the age of 65, after bravely fighting breast cancer for two decades and also enduring double pneumonia.
In the wake of my beloved sister Linda’s recent passing, mere weeks ago, I found myself compelled to honor her memory on a day that would have marked her 66th birthday, by sharing heartfelt sentiments on social media.
The post featured a video of Colleen and her sister dancing together at a celebration, both women breaking out in giggles while demonstrating their dance skills.
She titled the post: “For my lovely sister… I often reflect on you throughout the day, yet today – your birthday – holds a special thought.
‘I miss you so much and life won’t be the same without you in it…’

Earlier this month, a gathering was held in Blackpool for the funeral of Coleen‘s dear sister, Linda, which was attended by her loved ones and closest friends.
The television host dabbed her eyes with a tissue upon reaching St. Paul’s Church in their hometown alongside her sisters Maureen (age 71), Anne (age 74), and Denise (age 72).
At the funeral, Shane Jr (aged 36) and Jake (aged 32), her nephews, respectfully bore their cherished aunt’s pink casket amidst the gathering.
Seven men from the Nolan family and their companions carried the coffin adorned with arrangements of pink blossoms, lifting it onto their shoulders.
Shane also manned the door for his aunt while Denise read the eulogy.
Collen, clad in a sleek black fur-trimmed coat and matching dress, held her gaze low and struggled to hold back her emotions while passing by those who had assembled to express their condolences.
Four remaining Nolan sisters entered the church, where they were warmly welcomed and applauded by friends and relatives lining the aisle.
Linda’s former brother-in-law Shane Richie cut a sombre figure as he arrived ahead of his ex-wife.

Shane, who was married to Coleen (Linda’s sister) from 1990 to 1999, was among the early attendees, concealing his tears behind dark-tinted sunglasses.
At the funeral, a number of well-known individuals were in attendance, such as Lisa Matthew – a Grammy-nominated vocalist who was a member of the ’00s band Milkshake, Tommy Canon – an actor, and Jodie Prenger – a star from Coronation Street.
As a lifestyle expert reflecting on a touching moment, let me share a poignant scene I recently witnessed: I, standing outside a serene church, was moved by the heartfelt tribute delivered by Paul Harman Elliott, the last living Chuckle Brother, who at 77 years old, still radiates warmth and charm. The occasion was not ordinary; it was an emotional farewell for Linda, a woman whose friendship with the Chuckle Brothers had left a profound impact on all their lives. With tears in his eyes and a quivering voice, Paul paid tribute to her outside the church, expressing gratitude for the memories they shared together. The moment was filled with a sense of loss, but also love and appreciation for the bond that transcended their professional relationship.
The humorist, aged 77, expressed that “the world feels less vibrant without Linda,” reminiscing about cherished moments they shared, and emphasized that they had enjoyed living life together.
He called her a ‘fun bubbly person’ as he looked back on their 40 years of friendship.
Linda passed away earlier this month at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
She died from double pneumonia, where she entered into end-of-life care and then into a coma.
Despite battling advanced breast cancer that had metastasized to her hip, liver, and brain, it wasn’t cancer itself that ultimately claimed her life.
In a straightforward manner, you could say: The four remaining sisters from the well-known Irish 80s pop group, The Nolans – Maureen, Anne, Denise, and Coleen – successfully collected £2,670 to support Trinity Hospice.
At the church on Honister Avenue, where I had the privilege of witnessing Linda’s marriage to her cherished spouse, Brian Hudson, in 1981, the funeral service commenced at 10:30 am as scheduled.
In the church, they conducted Brian’s funeral after she mourned his loss due to skin cancer in 2007 at the age of 60.
A private service followed at a crematorium nearby, with Linda laid to rest with Brian’s ashes.
Earlier, Colleen shared that they had chosen Linda’s final resting spot, expressing to The Mirror, “Upon Linda’s passing, my immediate thought was to unite Brian’s remains with hers.
‘So that’s what we’re doing. In life they were never apart, so I’m glad they’ll be together again.’
