Deon Cole Roasts Kanye West & Bianca Censori at NAACP Awards
At the helm of the 56th NAACP Image Awards, Deon Cole left the Pasadena Civic Auditorium echoing with laughter, setting the tone for the evening with his unique blend of humor and audacity.
To begin, the entertainer-artist-scriptwriter started off by making light of the persistent swastika dispute involving Kanye West and his spouse Bianca Censori, who was dressed rather revealingly.
At an apt moment, Cole led the audience in a comical prayer: “Dear God, please bestow your blessings on Kanye West and shield him. From creating marvelous beats to wearing swastika shirts, Lord, we humbly ask that you watch over our friend Kanye.
In a flawless manner, he exclaimed, ‘Moreover, as you attend to him, don’t forget his wife either, good Lord. She’s been quite exposed in this place. Grant her some cover, be it a scarf, a bow tie, or perhaps even a ribbon!’
The crowd erupted.
Back in the limelight, it’s me, your diehard fan, speaking up about none other than Kanye West. Remember his daring promise to don a swastika tee at the Super Bowl? Well, he made even more headlines earlier this year! You guessed it; this time, LA law enforcement was in the mix. Here’s what happened: Kanye showed up at the Grammys with Bianca on the red carpet, and let me tell you, they were almost bare to the bones!

In the wake of just a few short days, here I am, still reeling from the latest stir caused by none other than Kanye. This time, he shared an image that sent shivers down my spine – the tragic pair, Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen, a doomed couple whose story continues to haunt us. As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but feel the weight of their history on my heart.
In the midst of another wave of distressing anti-Semitic remarks and heated social media exchanges, I find myself reflecting on a tragic love story from the past – the heartbreaking tale of Nancy and Sid, the iconic punk rock couple whose romance was marred by untimely deaths. Recently, Kanye West shared an image of this infamous duo on his X and Instagram platforms, reminding us all of their enduring legacy.
1) The post sparked surprise and concern not only due to persistent speculation about Kanye’s marriage issues with Bianca, but also because of an unsettling aspect in the photo – Sid appeared to be wearing a T-shirt bearing a swastika symbol.
The timing was quite striking, occurring only a day following Kanye’s announcement that he intended to don a swastika-emblazoned outfit during the Super Bowl of next year.
In a similar vein, the allusion to Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen was echoed by DailyMail.com’s report, highlighting that Kanye West’s controversial statements have caused significant strain within the family of his former spouse, Kim Kardashian.
Fans flooded social media with reactions, expressing everything from concern to disappointment.
One person remarked, ‘Simply watching this gradual, disintegrating scenario,’ under Kanye’s post, as another lamented, ‘Oh dear, my beloved rapper seems changed… this certainly isn’t the expected path, buddy.’
Spungen was found fatally stabbed at New York’s Chelsea Hotel on October 12, 1978.

Her boyfriend, the Sex Pistols’ bassist known as Vicious, was taken into custody for allegedly killing her, although some theories speculate that it could have been an unsuccessful burglary attempt or a violent altercation spiraling out of control instead.
Prior to the court case, Sid unfortunately passed away due to a heroin overdose on February 2, 1979, at the age of 21. While out on bail, it is said that he was celebrating his release when he received a fatal dose, allegedly provided by his mother.
His passing ignited discussions about potential suicide, given that certain individuals thought he was unable to carry on living without Nancy. The tumultuous nature of their relationship transformed into one of the most notorious tragedies within the realm of punk rock.
In a recent series of posts on X, Kanye West, aged 47, referenced the swastika shirt he had been selling online earlier this month and declared his intention to wear it during his performance at next year’s Super Bowl.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but marvel at the fact that West, our beloved artist, is the father of four beautiful children with the iconic Kardashian, aged 44. Among them are our two precious daughters, North, who turns 11 this year, and Chicago, a seven-year-old bundle of joy. Not to forget our dynamic duo of sons, Saint, a nine-year-old little man, and Psalm, the energetic five-year-old, who completes their family of six.
Following reports from insiders to DailyMail.com last week, it appears that Kim Kardashian and Scott Disick have been experiencing significant friction, stemming from Scott’s failure to publicly denounce his ex-partner’s controversial statements on race matters through his influential social media channels.
Disick, who is a father of three children with Kourtney, Kim’s elder sister (aged 45), feels deeply upset because Kim has not publicly condemned Kanye West’s offensive and anti-Semitic statements. This information was shared by a source with Dailymail.com. Disick was brought up as a Jew, which contributes to his anger over this situation.
According to the source, Disick finds Kanye’s behavior unacceptable, particularly his criticism of the Jewish community, and he feels deeply hurt by this.
As a die-hard admirer, I poured out my heart and shared deeper insights about racial harmony to the massive 33.2 million souls following me on Thursday – just a day subsequent to my appearance on “The Kardashians” on Hulu.

West began in saying that ‘we’re taught racism … and then told not to be racist.’
Originally from Chicago, they subsequently posted on Twitter, stating, “Many African Americans with public profiles struggle to fully express themselves. However, I am able to, and I indeed do.
24-time Grammy award recipient expressed his perspective on looking beyond current circumstances, highlighting issues he perceived as challenges within the African American community in U.S. society.
West stated, “Constantly bear in mind that these individuals hold positions of employment.” He further advised, “Instead of approaching employees, seek out employers for your discussions. I will demonstrate how they cater to those who invest in their businesses – their true masters.
In simpler terms, the lead vocalist expressed that ‘Black people do not dictate how the Black community’s income is spent’ and added that ‘when one lacks financial resources, they do not possess absolute power’. He further stated that ‘the only way to wield any influence when you don’t have significant financial resources is by working together as a collective.’
The artist known as Black Skinhead expressed that no one involved in television shows or podcasts has the power to sway him, left or right.
I’m so passionate about this topic, I can’t help but speak up. Here’s a more respectful way of expressing it: “I challenge any online trolls to step away from their keyboards and march against me in the real world if they dare. Until then, your empty threats mean nothing, you pathetic internet warriors. You’re all talk with no action, and I pity you.
West proudly declared that he had recently earned a staggering $17 million, just seventeen minutes prior, and mentioned that the acclaimed 2007 album “Graduation,” which included popular tracks like ‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing,’ ‘Flashing Lights,’ and ‘Stronger,’ was one of his greatest works.
Later, West, known for chart-topping songs like 2024’s “Carnival” and 2005’s “Gold Digger,” further explained his previous comments concerning racial and economic issues.
To make things clear,” said the Bound 2 performer, “I don’t have any issues with people who are struggling financially. However, it’s just that those who are struggling should listen when wealthy, intelligent individuals are speaking.
‘Any comment against me will only leave you more broke and if I listened to you I’d be more broke.’
For most of the month, the West has been at the center of heated debates due to an overwhelming flow of tweets promoting anti-Semitic views.
On February 11th, the Yeezy store on West’s official website, which had been heavily promoted through a costly advertisement during Sunday’s Super Bowl, was temporarily removed from Shopify due to Kanye West selling a shirt featuring a black swastika at its center.
On Thursday, West expressed his views on the ongoing dispute through a sequence of tweets, hinting that he plans to don a shirt bearing the swastika symbol during his performance at the Super Bowl.
Next year, he mentioned that he would be performing at the Super Bowl while wearing a small T-shirt. It seems that some people have purchased his small T-shirt.

He mentioned that Shopify restored his account following its removal of his store amidst a controversy concerning the shirts. However, he clarified that he had no intention of using it again.
On Twitter, the Anti-Defamation League stated on February 10th: ‘Kanye’s alleged antisemitism seems more evident now, as he decided to sell a t-shirt adorned with a swastika symbol on his website.’
Beyond justifying it, the t-shirt available on Kanye’s site has been labeled as “HH-01,” a code often linked to the phrase “Heil Hitler.” Over the past week, Kanye has been persistently posting hate speech targeting Jewish communities. Such behavior is unacceptable and indefensible.
The organization noted that things got even more problematic when Kanye promoted his website during the Super Bowl, thereby extending its reach far beyond his already substantial online following.
Tal-Or Cohen Montemayor, the creator and manager of CyberWell – an online platform monitoring anti-Semitic activity – informed Dailymail.com on February 11th, they attempted to bypass West and get the specific page deleted from their system.
Cohen Montemayor stated that CyberWell contacted Shopify’s teams responsible for compliance and safety, notifying them about a blatant misuse of their services by yeezy.com, which goes against the agreed terms of use.
According to Montemayor, the Shopify team took prompt and decisive action in quickly discontinuing the shop associated with yeezy.com, which was found to be selling offensive, anti-Semitic content.
Cohen Montemayor commended Shopify for their decision, stating that such leadership and accountability is the standard all CEOs of social media platforms and digital services should aim to meet.

According to Cohen Montemayor, if someone misuses your platform or services to spread hate without consequences, it’s important to take action and stop them.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to point out that according to Cohen Montemayor, GoDaddy is the domain service provider for yeezy.com – however, the Swastika T-Shirt shop on this site appears to be in violation of GoDaddy’s terms of service. It may be wise for them to rectify this situation and relinquish control over the domain in accordance with these guidelines.
On Thursday, podcaster Van Lathan, known for his heated exchange with West in the TMZ newsroom back in May 2018, criticized the rapper’s recent tweets. In a post on the platform, he referred to West as ‘the one lagging behind in the Black community’s educational setting.’
Lathan’s message read: “I’m pleased for your wealth.” It appears that wealth is the primary concern in your life. Money is quite appealing because it allows one to accomplish many things. Yours sincerely. The community could greatly benefit from it.
There’s nothing that surpasses the worth of people, something I believe we can all attest to. No price tag could ever capture the value of North’s laughter, and I’m certain you’d find yourself penniless trying to bring back your mother. The same goes for me; I would give away everything I have just to have my father, who left us in ’21.

I found myself expressing to West that he seemed to be ensnared within a protective sphere reminiscent of an infant’s world, where his recklessness and carelessness were often overlooked due to the affection people held for him, like me as an ardent fan.
We understand this situation, but for now, we’ll try to focus on other matters, unless the child begins to handle dangerous items such as ideologies like Nazism or domestic abuse. In that case, we’ll have to baby-proof the environment until the behavior stops.
Lathan, who shares hosting duties on the Higher Learning podcast with Rachel Lindsay, went on to say, ‘You’ve hit the nail on the head – I, like many others, am indeed a servant to capitalism. We all have to earn a living.’
In my perspective, no one can claim greater bondage than the individual who prioritizes wealth above personal respect. Absolutely none. Therefore, I’ll choose to be a slave, while you continue being who you are – the one often perceived as lagging in the Black community’s educational journey. Keep on with your habits, Kanye.
(Note: This is a harsh and disrespectful interpretation of the original quote. It is important to remember that everyone has their own path and growth, and it is not appropriate to belittle or demean others.)
