It appears that while some participants might have joined ‘Married At First Sight’ in search of romantic love, an unexpected bond – a strong friendship or “bromance” – seems to be the most enduring connection from this season, involving Billy Belcher, Dave Thomas, and Jeff Gobbels.

On August 17, the threesome was seen having a fun guys’ outing after watching a soccer match, during filming. They seemed carefree and full of energy as they strolled side by side, enjoying each other’s company.

Dave, affectionately called “The TikTok Tradie,” maintained a casual elegance in a sleek black blazer layered over an open, soft pastel green shirt. He matched this with fitted black jeans and timeless Converse shoes.

His heavily tattooed neck and hands added an edgy touch to his laid-back look.

Billy, who’s 31 years old, chose an outfit with a blend of smart and casual styles. He wore a light grey coat on top of a clean white polo shirt.

He finished off his appearance with well-fitted blue pants and crisp white sneakers, radiating a subtly fashionable atmosphere.

39-year-old Jeff wore a stylish, all-black ensemble, with a long, woolen coat layered over a sage green button-down shirt.

He paired the group with black trousers and corresponding Converse shoes, effortlessly complementing Dave’s style.

It was initially discovered that their friendship existed when Billy and Dave openly admitted to violating Married at First Sight’s rules by spending time together beyond the camera’s gaze.

Instead of secretive workout routines, they were found enjoying leisurely spa outings; this friendship swiftly turned into the season’s most intriguing bond that everyone was discussing.

Earlier this month, Billy opened up to Daily Mail Australia, expressing how Dave has been his “pillar of strength” during the entire ordeal.

Billy recently shared with Daily Mail Australia that Dave has been his “solid support” throughout the whole process.

‘It was really nice to have someone there for me, and vice versa,’ Billy said. 

Having Dave by my side during the entire performance was absolutely crucial for me. He served as a solid support, much like a shield I could lean on when faced with difficulties.

Billy also revealed how they secretly met up, despite the show’s strict rules.

Billy admitted, “At certain moments, we used to go to the gym together, something we shouldn’t have done, and occasionally had mini-spa sessions. Small things like that.

‘I can’t lie, I had a cry watching Dave’s wedding back on TV,’ he admitted.

I realized Dave could be quite emotional, so I wasn’t surprised when things got sentimental. However, witnessing it struck a chord with me; I found myself tearful and needed my tissues. I felt like I was about to cry out loud, wondering why I was feeling this way.

Apart from expressing high regard, Dave referred to Billy as his “most admired stablehand” of the current season. He shared that they quickly bonded during the bachelor’s party.

Dave confided that through the course of the night, he and I found ourselves bonding effortlessly, exchanging glances and making funny expressions, and it was clear to both of us that we would hit it off immediately.

I was eagerly anticipating seeing him once we settled into our new apartments. He truly served as my foundation during that experiment.

It appears that since Jeff joined them, the Married at First Sight grooms have created a strong three-piece group that is expected to endure long after the program finishes.
