NCIS gets future confirmed after season 22

The future of NCIS has been confirmed – and it’s good news for fans.

In October, the 22nd season of the ongoing procedural drama aired, with Variety hinting at an increase in action to come. It appears that the network CBS has decided to continue this series, as it’s been renewed for another season.

Great news keeps rolling in with the confirmation of additional seasons for the offshoot series, “NCIS: Origins” and “NCIS: Sydney.”

More good tidings are on the horizon as both spin-off shows, “NCIS: Origins” and “NCIS: Sydney,” have been approved for another season.

The prequel series titled “NCIS: Origins” debuted in 2024, taking us back to 1991 where we meet a younger version of Leroy Jethro Gibbs, portrayed by Austin Stowell. The show has been well-received and is all set for a second season.

The Australian adaptation of NCIS, titled NCIS: Sydney, marks the franchise’s first international spin-off. This series, which premiered in 2023, revolves around Special Agent Michelle Mackey (portrayed by Olivia Swann), who collaborates with the Australian Federal Police (AFP) to address cases involving Americans overseas. The show is set for its third season return.

In other news, the American adaptation of the sitcom “Ghosts” has been given a green light for seasons five and six, airing from 2026 to 2027. The character “Tracker,” played by Justin Hartley, has been renewed for its third season, and the drama series “Fire Country” will enter its fourth. Additionally, the revamped game show “Hollywood Squares” is set for a second season return.

Simultaneously, the spin-off of “Young Sheldon,” titled “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” is set to return for a second season. Additionally, the spin-off from “The Good Wife,” named “Elsbeth,” has been granted a third season on the same network.

NCIS airs on CBS in the US. Seasons 1-20 are streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
