Much-loved period crime drama finally gets UK return date and fans will be thrilled

Miss Scarlet season five has finally confirmed a UK release date.

Last month, the fifth season of the cherished crime drama, once known as “Miss Scarlet and the Duke,” premiered on PBS Masterpiece in the United States.

The confirmation has been made that the series will debut in the United Kingdom on March 5th, with its broadcast taking place on U&Alibi at 9pm, as reported by Radio Times.

In the series “Miss Scarlet,” Kate Phillips from “Peaky Blinders” portrays detective Eliza Scarlet. During the initial four seasons of the show, her character partners with Stuart Martin, known for his role in “Army of Thieves,” who plays Eliza’s childhood friend, Inspector William ‘The Duke’ Wellington.

Well, I’ve got to say, jumping into this new season felt a bit different without Duke, our beloved character played by Martin. That’s why they changed the title – it’s a nod to the shift in the game we all know and love.

In the cast, Tom Durant Pritchard stepped in to play the role of Scotland Yard detective, Alexander Blake.

In the fifth season, Eliza’s talent agency is flourishing, and her career trajectory looks promising. However, on a more personal note, Duke has been gone in New York for quite some time now, leaving Eliza with a challenging choice to make.

At present, a fresh Detective Inspector joins Scotland Yard. Eliza finds herself in a situation where she needs to foster a connection with this newcomer if she intends to keep utilizing police resources. With these alterations and choices before her, the question arises – can Eliza Scarlet manage to balance it all?

It’s been confirmed that Miss Scarlett will continue her story in a sixth season, as production is all set to begin this month in the city of Belgrade, Serbia.

Phillips returns to play Miss Scarlett once more, with Tom Durant Pritchard as Alexander Blake, Cathy Belton taking on the character of Ivy Woods, Simon Ludders portraying Mr. Potts, Evan McCabe stepping into the role of Oliver Fitzroy, Felix Scott as Patrick Nash, and Paul Bazely assuming the part of Clarence.

In the upcoming season six, we’ll see some fresh faces joining our cast. Among them are Sam Buchanan from “Back to Black,” taking on the role of Detective George Willows, and Grace Hogg-Robinson, known for her work in “Flatmates.” She will portray Isabel Summers, a dynamic young woman who enters the Clerical Office alongside Ivy.

Miss Scarlet will return to U&Alibi at 9pm on March 5.
