Team behind Black Doves reveal first look at Andrew Lincoln’s new Scotland-set ITV thriller

The creators of the Netflix show “Black Doves” have revealed the initial glimpse of Andrew Lincoln’s upcoming ITV suspenseful television series.

As a devoted gamer speaking up here, I’m excited to share that the familiar face from “The Walking Dead,” whom we all know so well, is making a splash on UK television again with the series titled “Cold Water.” In this gripping tale, I find myself stepping into the shoes of a character named John – a man grappling with repressed emotions and deep-seated sadness. Following a personal identity crisis, my character decides to uproot his family from bustling London and settle in a serene Scottish village. It promises to be an intriguing journey as we uncover the mysteries of this new life.

The initial image showing Lincoln in his role has been revealed by the production company Sister, known for their work on ‘Black Doves’. The actor is seen with a cleaner shave than what we usually see from him in ‘The Walking Dead’.

The story unfolds as John settles in Coldwater, where he meets his charismatic neighbor Tommy, played by Ewan Bremner from “Trainspotting,” and his spouse, the local vicar Rebecca, portrayed by Eve Myles known for her role in “Torchwood.

While John admires and finds Tommy captivating, his wife Fiona, known for her role in “Game of Thrones” as Indira Varma, seems less enthusiastic about their neighbor.

Yet, John remains oblivious to the fact that Tommy conceals terrifying mysteries. Only after a sequence of troubling events unfold does John question Tommy’s true identity.

After John’s pent-up anger finally explodes with catastrophic consequences, he unexpectedly owes a favor to his newly made companion, as the summary continues.

As a devoted viewer, I’d like to share that this captivating series is masterfully crafted by the brilliant mind of David Ireland, who both created and penned it. The direction of each episode is skillfully handled by Lee Haven Jones and Andrew Cumming, making every scene a visual delight.

Lincoln gained significant fame in America by portraying the lead role of Rick Grimes in the popular TV series “The Walking Dead.” He recently resurrected this character in the miniseries titled “The Walking Dead: The Ongoing Saga” last year.

Cold Water will premiere on ITV1 and ITVX this autumn.
