Gemma Collins is facing increased harassment from a stalker who sent her threatening and abusive letters while she was filming ‘I’m A Celeb All Stars’ in South Africa.
According to sources at Daily Mail, Gemma was sent a package containing human waste and threatening letters, which led her to install panic buttons throughout her house for safety.
Viewers are currently seeing the celebrity’s appearances on ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ on ITV, which were filmed in September. Meanwhile, the police are continuing to investigate the difficult situation she experienced.
Last year, 45-year-old Gemma discovered she was being stalked when she received rat poison. She said the experience has been incredibly distressing, causing her significant anxiety and fear for her life.
Sources shared with Daily Mail on Thursday that the situation is frightening. The individual has been receiving disturbing packages and threatening, insulting letters in the mail.
The police have been incredibly helpful, installing panic buttons in her home, which has eased her fears somewhat, but she remains very frightened. They have the suspect’s DNA, but haven’t located them yet.
I’m always fascinated by the stories behind celebrities’ decisions, and Gemma’s return to the Australian jungle really struck me. It turns out she first appeared on the show way back in 2014, and this time around, she was going through an incredibly difficult time with a stalker. It’s brave of her to face those challenges and still participate, honestly.
She shared on the ‘Everything I Know About Me’ podcast that a stalker had deeply disturbed her, leading her to leave her customer-facing role at her Brentwood store. She had previously expressed her fear about the situation.
Gemma shared that she’s been through an incredibly difficult and unbelievable situation. She revealed she was stalked by a woman who sent her a threatening letter – even writing it while wearing white gloves – and expressed a desire to harm her.
I received some really disturbing threats – people actually wished me harm. I’d get all kinds of strange visitors at the shop. It was unsettling, because people can be so unpredictable. Ultimately, that’s a big reason why I decided to leave the business.
Gemma reported some of the incidents to the police, but she didn’t truly feel secure until she increased her own personal safety measures.
Since arriving on the show, Gemma has quickly become a fan favorite, offering a welcome escape from personal difficulties she’s been facing.
On Wednesday’s show, furiously took aim at boxer David Haye after she made her arrival.
After losing a challenge to Craig Charles and being eliminated from the main camp, she immediately expressed her anger towards the boxer, accusing him of unfairly suggesting she shouldn’t have been allowed water during the trial.
While Gemma was eating, she asked for a drink, but David told her to wait until she finished her food.
Gemma was upset by a comment David made and later told other contestants she thought he was ‘evil.’ She then shared rumors about him allegedly being involved in relationships with multiple women at the same time.
Okay, so you won’t BELIEVE this, but David and his girlfriend Sian? They’re always with another person! Like, it’s a whole thing, a ‘throuple’ they call it. I’ve been following them for ages, and it’s not just anyone – they were previously with Una Healy from The Saturdays, and even Helen Flanagan! Honestly, it’s fascinating to watch, and I’m completely obsessed with keeping up with their relationships. It’s just… different, you know?
The athlete started an argument with Gemma while she was eating eight small appetizers made from blended ant eggs and served on crackers.
It comes after fellow I’m A Celeb legend Myleene Klass suffered her own stalking hell.
Last October, Peter Windsor, who has schizophrenia, was convicted of stalking Myleene Klass. Over nine months, he had harassed her, sending her costumes – including Catwoman and a police uniform – and repeatedly calling her a ‘naughty vixen’.
Before receiving an indefinite hospital order, he stalked a woman and a colleague for four years, and during that time, sent her an air pistol.
The 61-year-old man also made disturbing requests in his letters, asking the woman to discipline him with a whip and cane. He sent her letters – at times calling her a ‘worthy high priestess’ – along with gifts like jewelry.
The man with schizophrenia was also convicted of stalking Katie Breathwick, a coworker of Myleene at Classic FM. He had sent her binoculars, spiked running shoes, and a bottle of champagne.
Last month at Coventry Crown Court, Judge Tom Rochford explained that the defendant’s actions caused significant harm, fear, and distress to both women involved. He emphasized that each message and package sent was intentional.
‘You were on an upward or worsening trajectory.’
