Mercedes-Benz Shares Major Plans: Baby G, CLA Concept and New V8 Engine

Mercedes-Benz has revealed its grandest product and technological launch plan yet, planning to debut numerous new or updated models by 2027. Notable inclusions are the presentation of a compact G-Class model, an innovative CLA Concept, and a future-gen V8 engine, demonstrating their dedication to both electric vehicles and high-performance gasoline engines.

Moving forward with the renowned G-Class series, Mercedes-Benz is working on a smaller, more affordable variation of their robust SUV, affectionately known as “Baby G”. This new model aims to maintain the off-road genetics of its larger sibling while providing a more compact and economical package, appealing to a wider range of customers.

Launching the company’s vigorous launch is the fresh CLA model, available in both electric (EV) and high-tech internal combustion engine (ICE) versions. The EV adaptation leverages innovative battery technology similar to the VISION EQXX, delivering top-tier range, efficiency, and charging performance. Simultaneously, the gasoline version will incorporate a 48-volt hybrid system along with an electrified dual-clutch transmission.

Mercedes-AMG is making updates to its performance range as well, which includes creating a state-of-the-art, electrified V8 engine. This engine aims to set new standards for power and fuel efficiency, and it will serve as an addition to AMG’s expanding collection of high-performance electric vehicles that are built on the exclusive AMG.EA platform.

In addition to unveiling significant improvements in their product line, Mercedes-Benz has also revealed intentions to refine their design aesthetic. They’re set to introduce their exclusive MB.OS software for superior connectivity and automation, while simultaneously focusing on increasing operational efficiency to preserve profitability during the shift towards electrification.
