The devoted followers of EastEnders were heartbroken when a beloved character, Martin Fowler, met his end in sorrowful sequences during the 40th-anniversary live broadcast.
Viewers had to say goodbye to James Bye’s character, as he became the second casualty following the unexpected blast at the Queen Vic, which claimed a life.
On Wednesday, the audience were left on tenterhooks when a character became trapped beneath a steel beam. Tragically, this individual succumbed to Crush Syndrome during the following day’s live broadcast.
At first glance, it seemed that Martin was recovering nicely following his rescue from beneath the fallen beam. However, tragically, his heart failed just as paramedics were attempting to revive him.
Stacey Slater (played by Lacey Turner) wept profusely when Martin passed away right before her, mere seconds after he professed his affection for her.
The tragic scene concluded as Stacey clung to Martin’s unmoving form, her sobs resonating beyond the wreckage of the Queen Vic, where onlookers stood.
People swiftly turned to X, previously recognized as Twitter, to express their sorrow and disbelief following Martin’s demise, acknowledging that they were grieving.
