Why you must see this hot band (and brilliant guitarist) on first headlining tour
This is a shameless promotion for an upcoming band, I won’t apologize for it. But it’s also an opportunity for you to be part of one of those rare, memorable moments. Moments where everyone wishes they were there to witness a band as they take flight. To say you saw them perform live before they became huge. Fresh tour dates have been announced for their first-ever headline US and Canada tour, providing more people with the chance to experience this dynamic band.
The Cardinal Black serves as the band, and they’ve been experiencing significant progress within the UK, wrapping up a brief tour there in January. This group originates from Wales, the birthplace of Manic Street Preachers, and boasts an exceptional lead vocalist by the name of Tom Hollister. He infuses their music with genuine soul and emotion.
The title focuses on Chris Buck, an extraordinary guitarist. He’s a remarkable performer known for his outstanding solos. Notably, he was rightfully awarded the title of Best New Guitarist in the World 2019 by Guitarist Magazine. Accompanying him skillfully on drums is Adam Roberts.
Why should check out Cardinal Black on the first headlining tour
For the upcoming tour, there could be some adjustments in the band lineup due to scheduling conflicts. Sam Williams, our bassist, mentioned on the band’s Instagram that he might need to skip a few shows as he juggles the financial requirements of a new home with his work and band commitments. His absence from the tour PR photo implies there might be a substitute performer filling in for him temporarily.
Last summer, the band performed at three different venues: first at the Playing With Fire Festival in Omaha, then in Nashville, and finally at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. The shows in Nashville and Los Angeles were completely sold out, which brought them more attention. Not long ago, they announced that they had agreed to deals with the Nashville record label Thirty Tigers and global agency WMA.
Over the coming weeks and months, you’ll likely catch more tunes from this band. Their tour begins at The Mercury in New York City on August 6, 2025, with a few performances in Toronto and Ontario as well. Following that, they’ve got ten additional shows scheduled throughout the United States, wrapping up at Delfino Farms, Camino, on August 30.
If this piqued your curiosity, allow me to provide additional reasons why you might want to keep an eye on those dates. I encountered them for the first time supporting Peter Frampton at the Royal Albert Hall, London, in November 2022. He has a keen ear for talent, as they delivered an extraordinary performance in front of their largest audience yet.
On their recent UK tour, The Cardinal Black performed exceptionally well, particularly at a venue in Cambridge during October. If you reside in the U.S. or Canada, it’s your chance to witness them live next time! Don’t miss out on purchasing a ticket and experiencing this fantastic band, hoping to catch one of their unforgettable, must-see performances.
