John Simm’s Brighton-set ITV crime drama confirms return
John Simm’s ITV crime drama Grace has been confirmed to return for a sixth season.
Since 2021, a television series, set in Brighton and inspired by Peter James’s “Roy Grace” novels, has been on-air. This series follows the tenacious detective Roy Grace as he tackles various cases, all while grappling with the lingering mystery of his wife’s disappearance.
This year, it’s been confirmed that there will not only be a fifth season but also a sixth one. Each new season, similar to its predecessors, will consist of four separate movies.
In the upcoming series, DS Roy Grace will once again appear with his co-star DS Glenn Branson played by Richie Campbell, along with Zoë Tapper portraying Cleo Morey, Laura Elphinstone taking on the role of DS Bella Moy and Brad Morrison acting as DC Nick Nicholl.
Returning to the charming city of Grace, as portrayed by Peter’s captivating tales, is always thrilling for ITV’s drama commissioner Huw Kennair Jones.
With an exceptional cast and crew behind it, expertly breathing life into it all, we can expect another outstanding series on ITV and ITVX.
Author James expressed gratitude by saying: “I’ve lucked out with a phenomenally talented cast that any author would dream of, alongside a highly interactive and innovative production crew.
I’m frequently overwhelmed by emails from people across the globe, including the UK, expressing their affection for the series. This outpouring of praise serves as a clear demonstration of the exceptional caliber of each episode.
As a proud creator, I can’t help but express my heartfelt anticipation for more outstanding series based on my work. The adaptations I’ve witnessed under the collaboration with ITV have been nothing short of extraordinary, offering an unparalleled experience that I’ve yet to encounter elsewhere. Working alongside such a talented team continues to be a source of immense joy and inspiration for me.
Filming for the upcoming episodes will start shortly, with season 5 scheduled to air this coming spring.
Grace will return on ITV this spring, with seasons 1-4 available to stream on ITVX.
