Teddi Mellencamp reveals she is dating mystery older man amid stage 4 cancer battle

Teddi Mellencamp recently shared her experiences with dating while undergoing treatment for stage 4 cancer in a very honest conversation.

Singer Melissa Etheridge, known professionally as Mellencamp, is dating a man whose identity hasn’t been revealed. This comes after she was diagnosed with melanoma in 2022, which later spread to her lungs and brain.

The actress recently had her tenth date with a man who still lives with his college-aged children. This comes several months after he was seen looking affectionate with his former partner, Ricci Rea.

The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star announced on her podcast, Two Ts in a Podcast, that they’ve decided to name their son Derek.

It’s tough when you start dating as parents. It feels impossible to move things forward – we both have kids at home, and that creates a real barrier.

Mellencamp explained that he’s been deliberately pacing his relationship, holding back from sharing certain things. He added that this is a different approach for him, as he’s usually moved faster in the past.

John Mellencamp’s daughter and her husband, Edwin Arroyave, are raising their three children – Slate, 13, Cruz, 11, and Dove, 6 – together, even though they are separated. Edwin also has a daughter, Bella, 17, from a previous relationship.

John Mellencamp and his wife, the CEO of Skyline Security, are still living together in their $6.5 million home while they put their divorce on hold because of her health issues.

The Masked Singer Calla Lily’s co-host Tamra Judge then asked, ‘How does he deal with the cancer?’

Mellencamp described him as generally positive and logical, adding that he is older than her.

‘But the thing that I like the most about him is he makes me laugh.’

The reality TV star and her boyfriend enjoyed dinner at the popular Craig’s restaurant in West Hollywood. Afterward, he offered to go to a nearby hidden bar with her, but gently asked if she was up for it, considering she was undergoing treatment for her advanced cancer.

‘I was like, “I actually have enough energy right now,”‘ Mellencamp recalled.

‘Then I woke up this morning and I felt like hell.’

Mellencamp shared that she has one year left of immunotherapy, a treatment that leaves her feeling unwell for about three weeks each month. She’s scheduled for further tests in May.

As a wellness advocate, I’ve been following this story closely, and it’s incredibly inspiring. Just last October, scans showed no evidence of cancer in her body, which is remarkable considering everything she’s been through. She’d already had radiation and multiple surgeries to remove sixteen melanomas from her back, and also some sizable tumors on her brain – they were about the size of plums. It’s a testament to her strength and the dedication of her medical team.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen firsthand how infidelity can deeply impact a marriage, and unfortunately, it appears that’s what happened with the recent split of a certain RHOC guest star. Reports suggest her 13-year marriage ended after she allegedly had a months-long affair with her horse trainer, Simon Schröder, while his wife, Karli Postel, was expecting their second child. It’s a really difficult situation for everyone involved, and a stark reminder of how important trust is in any relationship.

According to reports, Postel discovered text messages on Simon’s phone revealing the affair, and both individuals admitted to it when she confronted them.

Mellencamp recently shared on The Jamie Kern Lima Show that he’s kept quiet about something because he didn’t want to involve his children.

Look, I don’t need anyone to prove anything, honestly. I just… I needed to hear him admit it. He finally said it – he did things that caused pain. It’s awful, but knowing he acknowledged hurting people… it’s something, right? I don’t care about a definite ‘yes’ or ‘no’ about what happened, just that he understands he wasn’t perfect and caused harm. It’s a relief, in a strange way.

She continued, saying it still deeply upset her to think about the past, and she sometimes wondered if it contributed to her cancer. She felt like it was a form of punishment – that everything has a price.
