The Last of Us season 2 finally confirms release date – and it’s soon
The hotly-anticipated second chapter of The Last of Us has just announced an exact release date.
Previously mentioned, the show based on the same-titled video game is set to resume on HBO in April. However, the network has officially announced that the second season will commence airing on the 13th of April.
In the second season, Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey’s characters, Joel and Ellie, will once again appear as they navigate through more undead threats amidst the chaos of a post-apocalyptic world.
In the forthcoming edition, we’ll zero in on the video game follow-up titled “The Last of Us: Part II.” This installment will advance the storyline by leaping ahead five years in the lives of our main characters.
This time, the ensemble expands to include Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, a survivor hailing from another group who eventually clashes with Ellie due to her pursuit of vengeance for someone dear to her heart.
In the teaser, viewers got a peek at Dever portraying Abby, who conveyed to Ellie: “Regardless of whether you possess a code like mine, there are certain actions that everyone recognizes as fundamentally unacceptable.
In addition to the cast, Isabela Merced joins as Ellie’s potential love interest Dina, shown dancing with Ramsey’s character in the trailer preview. Jeffrey Wright returns to his role as militia leader Isaac Dixon, a part he previously portrayed through motion capture in the video game “The Last of Us Part II.
Joining the impressive ensemble are Yours truly (Tati Gabrielle), Beef’s Young Mazino, Catherine O’Hara from Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Spencer Lord of Riverdale, Danny Ramirez known for Top Gun: Maverick, and Ariela Barer, who was in Runaways.

In the United States, “The Last of Us” can be seen on HBO, while in the UK it’s available on Sky Atlantic and NOW streaming service. The second season is set to debut on April 13.
